We didn't know what to expect from Abyssinian but were blown away by the vegetarian platter. Portions are huge and every dish was delicious. The service was slow on the night due to higher than expected number of patrons but staff did their best. See less

I love Ethiopian food and this is one of the best I have tasted. All the dishes had a very different flavour to each other. I loved that the vegetables that are normally done in garlic were done in a different way. They were really nice. Good value for money as well. Staff are very friendly. I will definitely be back. Took a chance going in when the shop was empty... paid off! Service was friendly, food was excellent. First time eating Ethiopian food for me and I loved it! Got the mesob plate, so many tasty flavours. Also tried the vegetable sambussas which were crisp and delicious. One lady running the show - front of house and kitchen - what a champ! See less

Great experience !! the Mesob share plate for 3 could have fed 5 ..we couldn't finish it so bring a big appetite !!! The staff were engaging and friendly. Mother and daughter are fabulous cooks and create all the dishes from scratch. Great prices, we will be back :) See less

Fantastic Food...the share plate for 4...we couldn't finish it!!! And we are fairly good eaters😁😁. Great food, try the platter if it's your first time trying Ethiopian food. If you want gluten free, they offer rice instead of the Ethiopian bread with the curries. See less

I enjoy the Veggie Combo plate here with injera the Ethiopian fermented bread .Very different but it has grown on me .A friend and I shared the dish and we loved it ...I like their meat dishes too . See less

Lovely informal place to visit with no airs about it. The host is courteous and helps first timers navigate the menu. We were five in number and ate a large plate that just had a little bit of everything. The food is yummy (especially the meat curries) and has no heat (chilli) at all. It was a wonderful experience. The staff were helpful and friendly but the food was bland, tepid and poorly presented. The slit pea curry was undercooked and crunchy, the beans and carrot curry was made using frozen vegetables (yes, you can taste the difference), the berbere curry was uninspiring and the menu stated that the vegetarian combo included 5 curries and injera but we only had 4 samples. The metal tray used made me feel like I was dining in a cafeteria. I can confidently say that I will not be visiting this establishment again anytime soon. See less

Absolutely wonderful food! Lovely family run business. The food is so flavoursome. We had the mesob style dining experience which is served in a giant platter and designed to be shared. Great value for money as well. Highly recommend the Ethiopian coffee. See less
