Lovely Valentine's Day meal this evening. The friendly and attentive service, ambience of the space, and food were all fantastic. Standout dishes were the mussel entree, casoncelli pasta (incredible) semifreddo and milk and honey desserts. Excellent work, will definitely be back. Thanks again! See less

Beautiful selection of wine. Stunning cocktails. Venue could get busy and there were a few times we had to keep asking for water, however overall attentive service. Entrée were interesting, flavours in scallops with shallots and chilli was too fusiony, would prefer the macadamia to have stood out more. Tuna tartare with carrots, carrot sauce was glossy and beautiful, but when put together the elements did not work together. We were a bit confused. Kingfish crudo was lovely. Overall the entrees might need some fine tuning, our table of guests agreed. Desserts were safe and enjoyable. The absolute highlight was the lobster ravioli for me, my second favourite was truffle spaghetti. Definitely will be back again for more pasta! Overall a lovely experience. See less

Consistently brilliant and creative fare. A constantly rotating menu with unbelievably creative takes on pasta dishes. ordered almost everything on the menu, could not fault any dish. The pastas are DIVINE!! the 1 missing star is due to its TINY TINY portion. for the price we're paying, you could be a little bit more generous. spent almost $800 worth and was still hungry by the end of the night, would have ordered more but the kitchen is on the slow side, was there for three hours. entrees came out, then it was almost an hour wait til the mains came out. didnt want to wait for another hour to order more mains. This was one of the BEST dining experiences we have had in 2021! The pastas are to die for. We had the lobster ravioli and the moreton bay bug spaghetti. Both were expertly done. The fish was a little disappointing (on the small side). Come for the pasta. The cocktails special was also very good. The house made bread was also some of the best I’ve ever had. See less

😙👌 Have had two absolutely exquisite meals here now. Food wise this is one of Melbourne's best kept fine dining secrets (that probably won't stay a secret for long). Service was great. Cocktails excellent. Food was incredible. Minor quibbles. The new wine list was pretty underwhelming. The POS system involves paying at the counter. For fine dining like this I would prefer to pay at the table. Those things aside I would not hesitate to recommend Al Dente for a special occasion or just for food that you'll be talking about for years to come. See less

Delightful energetic vibe, passionate obliging staff presenting another worthy Melbourne Italian restaurant and handy well-stocked provedore in one outlet . The menu and refreshments also included delightful presentations and flavours . We enjoyed the antipasti including breseola , mortadella, local scallops. Our main courses consisting of a small serve of beef cheek , duck tortellini and spanner crab ravioli (4 of, would have been more satisfying if 5 of or 6 of were presented ) considering $30 approx per main were despite this totally enjoyable .
