A cozy candlelit restaurant, I started with calamari which was delightful and had lamb shank from the specials menu with a glass of Rose, amazing experience, then l finished my night with tiramisu, it was the best I ever had. I'll definitely come back See less

Nice cosy restaurant, but that's all. Not authentic Italian. Vegies overcooked fish was soft and watery I ate half as I was hungry. Cheese cake no flavour didn't eat it. Very expensive for what you get. Asked waiter if I could get good expresso coffee he said it may not be Italian so I didn't have coffee. Came home hungry made myself nice fresh tomato sandwich and coffee. The restaurant was 728 Burke road Camberwell the waiter was a young man. We sat at the table near the window 12th March See less

Went to Amici last night as part of a group of 6 people. The atmosphere was nice, candles and all, and the staff were very friendly. They were busy and a group of 9 ordered just before us which meant a longer than usual wait for meals. However, I'm not going to fault them because of that! It's just one of those things. The meals were spot on. We started with the Bruschetta which was delicious. I had the Fettuccine Dino and my wife had the chicken with mushrooms. Finished off with the pannacotta and it was all wonderful. Will be coming back for sure! See less

Had dinner for 4 on a Sunday night. Be prepared to order only 2 courses as all 4 Mains were large, beautifully cooked and tasty. Even complied with a dish not containing garlic ( mine ). Staff were excellent - attentive when required and stayed away when not. Liked the idea of corkage at $ 4.75 per drinker. Am about to book dinner for 14 for early May and and cannot wait . See less

It is one of our favorite restaurants when we want to have a good meal and a nice ambience. We love the old fashion charm and the home cooked meals. We usually have the brochette with tomatoes, which is always a yummy start to a meal. This is usually followed by a pasta dish. Last time we had trio of pastas for 2. We choose gnocchi, which were light and fluffy, mushroom and chicken fettucine, which were really delicious and tortellini, which were also very tasty. We finished it with a yummy Italian gelati. The Atmosphere felt cosy and intimate ,the tables were set well and clean…the food sadly was a huge disappointment. Got the gnocchi and the pomegranate chicken. Chicken breast was way over cooked and tough. I unfortunately took a big bite at the start and really struggled to get that down. The Gnocchi was very underwhelming. Too much cheese the sauce was basic almost like something bought from a store. Neither of the meals were finished past a quarter of it . We did however finish the bruschetta which was rather nice. This place has a nice cozy ambience on Burke St, it's quite a romantic setting. The food was good although I ordered the veal carpaccio for entree and it was still frozen - quite crunchy and unpleasant. The pasta mains are a good size and delicious. See less

Great little italian restaurant, nice atmosphere without tables too closely packed (or at least it wasn't too busy when we were there). Nice candles on the tables and a generally dim room make it perfect for a date night. The food was also fantastic, I had the eye fillet and my wife had the gnocchi and we were both extremely happy. The meals were also very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and not absent or overbearing. We were a bit silly and didn't check that it was BYO so missed out on a couple of glasses of wine, but that was on us for not checking. The only downside was that there was a bit of a wait for the food, even though it wasn't that busy (there was only one other table with about 6 people at it when we arrived and ordered). Will definitely be back though. See less

As much as I'd love to review the food here, I find that impossible, since we left without eating. I've never walked out of a restaurant before. We had a booking, and they showed us to a table for two, with one chair. Ok ... Then we sit down after I take a chair from another table (who'll now be short) and sit. We look down and there's crumbs and dirt on the tablecloth. My side wasn't too bad, but my friend's was. Even the cutlery didn't look clean. We asked to move, and were shown to a small table by the door and I had to sit with my head practically at the mercy of the power box. If I moved too much, I'd have probably whacked it. We look down and again, this tablecloth had crumbs. I'm sorry, but one table could be an oversight. But two tables, is unacceptable. It greatly concerned us that if the tablecloths aren't cleaned, what else wasn't clean. From what I could see, the ambience would have been nice and the decor warm and cozy. But honestly, I can't give this a good review at all. Cleanliness in a restaurant is paramount and without it, they don't have my trust or 5 stars. See less
