Seriously update your bloody take away menu! It's from 2015.. the prices are huge difference. Very fustrating for your young staff to have to deal with. Really enjoyed our meals on the other hand. Had the ho mok Talay, very tasty! See less

The food was good but everything else was a big miss. We asked the server to clean the outside table we were on as it had a few places birds had pooed on it. He was bewildered and seemed to have no clue what he was being asked to do and didn't do it. I guess wiping down tables is a new concept for him. I was asked to order inside at the register. This took about 15 minutes as she was taking takeaway orders on the phone while serving and making the drinks for the previous order also taking orders for takeaway drinks. The male server walked past many times but I guess she was the only one who could make and serve drinks or take orders. When the entree arrived so did our rice for the main course which went stone cold before the mains appeared. I asked for plates as we were sharing, didn't arrive until the entree was finished. The table behind us asked about their missing rice, which didn't arrive until they had finished. Food was good, maybe they should just stick to takeaway orders. Shame as venue has potential but not as it's run now. See less

There are nicer Thai restaurants at Christie's beach. Sunisa's Thai and Christie's Thai cuisine. Food at Ampika's Kitchen is alright. Room for improvement in all other areas. The older bloke has a hostile tone and it's evident he hasn't much experience in hospitality. I'm guessing he has found love in Thailand and brought her back to share her cooking with us - great idea, but unfortunately poorly executed. He is not gifted with restaurant management or customer service skills, and appears to be making no attempt on improving. Beer menu needs an urgent revamp. The younger bloke serving was great. I loved it. The Pad Thai was tasty. I think the Beef Massaman would have been better than Lamb shank - lamb had too much fat. (Personal preference) Lovely decor and GREAT service. Id go again See less

Our experience at Ampika’s was such a disappointment that I find it hard to surmise in a single review. The entire experience was so average that I was expecting Gordon Ramsay to pop his head up and tell us we were on camera. We ordered coke - What we received soda water with a mild infusion of coke. Obviously trying to make the syrup go the extra mile… We ordered lemon pepper squid - What we received was an over cooked conglomerate of squid rings that were still attached under the breadcrumbs. Having no knife provided we set about trying to pull rings apart with our fingers at the table. The squid was accompanied by a weird celery soup with other random bits of vegetables floating in it. We opted not to use the soup after tasting and ate the squid as-is. Unfortunately it tasted more like burnt bread, as the oil tasted like it hadn’t been changed in the past few weeks. The Bangkok rice was tolerable, but the chicken was dry and over cooked, and it came presented in a cone in the middle of the plate (again, no serving cutlery) and was barely above room temperature as though pre-made and reheated. We had to ask for plates to be able to share the dish. The green curry was again tolerable, but by no means fresh. The vegetables were soft and clearly from a frozen packet. We both took a pit-stop at the loo and, while the women’s was ok the men’s left something to be desired. A general lack of cleanliness throughout the restaurant itself seemed to multiply in the bathroom with mould and stains around the place Before popping back out to the dining area, while wandering down the hallway back to seating I couldn’t help but notice a giant chest freezer with texta writing on top that read “seafood”. Unfortunately with the majority of dishes costing $25 and up we realised that what we were eating was neither fresh, nor cooked with any real care. Save your money, buy Thai seasoning or curries from Woolies and you’ll enjoy a better meal at home. See less

After a life time of walking by I finally went it and it didn't disappoint. Food was good, the staffs service and atentiveness was excellent and you can't beat the veiw of the ocean and jetty. Highly recommended stopping in if you have never been and enjoy Thai food. They also allow you to choose your level of spice which is very nice. See less

Middle aged man had very hostile tone regarding mask exemption and disagreed that refusing entry to someone with a medical exemption is illegal because it breaches Australia's discrimination laws. I was allowed a takeaway menu but lost my appetite for dinner real quick. Two stars purely for the menu options and polite young man at the counter. See less

Bit hit and miss. We had Satay Chicken, coconut curry prawns and Thai Beef Salad. I usually love Thai but the Satay Chicken had the weirdest taste, it was a shame because the peanut sauce was delicious but the chicken was over cooked and had a strange marinade on the actual chicken. If it was just cooked in the penut sauce it would be lovely. The coconut prawns were so small for king prawns, way too much coconut and then over cooked again so the prawn were tough. The Thai Beef salad redeemed itself, the dressing and salad was nice, beed medium rare and very tasty. So I would give it another try, maybe for the rice as other dishes looked like they could be good. But my goodness the place could really do with a good clean. New menus that aren't sticky. It was like nothing ever gets a good wash down. Pity because the views are beautiful but the place is so outdated. See less

I love this restaurant and I am a regular. I will not be going back until it changes hands. After being told alot of different reasons by the owner for why one of our meals and drinks had not arrived, including being told twice it wasn't paid for after we and shown a bank statement. And not offered any apologies or solutions we had given up on the meal and asked for a refund. The meal was some how made anyway and the waitress who was lovely and doing her best asked if we would like it any way, even tho we had received our refund. The owner then told her to come and take it back off of us. I work in the industry and understand mistakes happen. Just apologize and fix the problem. I have never had such a bad experience anywhere. Fantastic Authentic Thai Food! Quaint surrounds in a fabulous location, sit by the fire in winter or watch the sunset outside in summer with local craft beer available in bottle or on tap. We love this place but it is pricey compared to other local eateries, but you pay for what you get and here you're getting some of the best! See less

Let’s start with the best asset of the restaurant - it’s on the beach that means you can have sunset dinners 😍😍😍😍 This Thai restaurant had maintained its authenticity and the ambiance was very well crafted. We ordered choochi, spring rolls and pad Thai noodles with some rice. Excellent food and authentic taste (well I would know because I have visited Thailand) All thumbs up and must visit place See less
