Very understaffed disorganised place, the nice lady at front of house seemed to know what she was doing and made a nice coffee however the man who took our order had no knowledge of prices for basic coffees and told the patrons next to us that there were no menus and the items were on the black board. Found this very strange. See less

It’s a lovely cafe next to Watsons Bay library. The outdoor seating is great with the stunning view of Sydney Harbour Bridge. My kids would love this cafe next to the library. Awesome space for kids too. Staffs are friendly and my piccolo is great 😊. It’s a cafe provided counter service and seating free area. Menu is on the chalkboard inside the cafe. You can ordered your drinks first and take a photo of the menu board to choose the food you like. Lovely day out for us. Thumbs up 👍 See less

amazing place in every way- great location, friendly staff, and delicious food. i had the mussels- something i usually avoid at cafes because they are frozen- but these ones were fresh and tasty. sitting in the warm sun, eating fresh seafood, staring at the beautiful bay view. i felt like i was in Sicily. and my friend’s food looked absolutely delicious as well. the staff were really friendly and the owner made sure we were well looked after, very accomodating. oh! and the home made deserts are a MUST. this place really had something for everyone’s can’t wait to go back and try some more delicious meals. thanks again bait house! A strange place. Young staff who seem inexperienced and don’t know the menu. People arriving between 11.30am and 12 noon couldn’t order off the breakfast menu and had to wait til noon to order lunch. I had the vegetarian omelette- it was ok but it was just like something I make at home. Very ordinary. They also have a sign saying they prefer you to pay cash because the merchant fees on cards eat into their bottom line but they have an ATM that charges a $2.50 withdrawal fee. Very strange See less

First the good things - The location is quite perfect, close to the water and the courtyard is a very relaxing place with nice water views. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, which was quite tasty and flavourful. The ambiance and decor is one that is quite calming. Unfortunately, while the above sounds great, I think the service is far below acceptable hospitality standards. Personally, having worked during my uni days as a waiter and in the kitchen as a kitchen hand, there is much this cafe has to work on. While the staff were polite and friendly, they didn't seem skilled in terms of communicating, checking in with the table on how everything is going amongst others. There was a rather comedic error where someone on the table cancelled their individual order but turns out the entire table order was cancelled. Hospitality training would train the staff to go to the table and say 'I understand that you have decided to cancel your orders, is there any more drinks I can get you? Or do you have any questions with the food menu in case there was something you were unsure of with your order?' The food did take a while to deliver but I hope it's just a bad day cause I would expect a kitchen to churn out basic orders like ham and cheese croissant in a few minutes rather 20mins, which it took for me to get my order. I give a 2.5 rating, which does seem harsh but service in many ways is the cornerstone of dining experience followed by the food. If however you have all the time in the time in the world, then I guess you may find this cafe is quite nice! See less

When we had been there for 40min,a friend arrived, ordered something but decided to cancel. The staff cancelled the whole table's order. After 1h we asked what happened & re ordered. When food arrived it was not bad. We were charged full price and some items that we didn't eat were in the check. This was easily sorted but altogether not a great experience See less

Every dining location in Watson’s Bay is expensive, with places like the dine in Doyle’s on the upper end, and places like this on the lower expense end. The meals are still not all cheap, with fish and chips for around $25 and burgers for the same price point too. But they do have a decent selection of bruschetta with varying ingredients, such as the mushroom bruschetta. My brother and I came here a few weeks ago and I had bruschetta and smoothies. The smoothies weren’t fresh, you could tell the fruit had been frozen, and then thawed or blended just prior to serving. It would have been great to taste some fresh fruit. We also had a slice of cake from the display, which was clearly a few days old. The staff were reasonable and there was a clear QR code to checkin. See less

A group of 7 came for Lunch on a busy Sunday during the long weekend. With no booking, staff were able to get us seated with a short wait, which we were happy to do as the place was packed. The view was wonderful, as we were at the front overlooking the water, with great city views, but to be honest, unless you’re inside, you will have a good vista. Waitress took our drinks order as menus were provided, and shortly after took orders. Food wise we had fish and chips, tuna salad and a pizza, as well as the salmon and swordfish, which were actually not on menu, but were suggested. The swordfish was the best I’ve had and the accompanying chips and salad made for a very filling meal. All the food was great, and came out to our table more or less at the same time. Value for money I thought was quite reasonable and overall a great time was had by all, we payed by credit card, and that was not an issue despite what I had read with some whining about the ATM and cash only, we had no such issue. All in all, for a cafe experience, this is amongst one of the best you can have Would go back again to see if it is consistent and would recommend. Tip. Plan and make a reservation, and also check for any off menu items. Will be back, as I’ve heard there is a Lobster Burger coming to the menu soon See less

Fantastic location, antiquated approach to service, food was average at best. Slimey salad leaves with sparse calamari around the edge. Gnocchi pesto tasted out of a jar. See less

This is a lovely quiet cafe with a great view of Watson's Bay. Nicola the owner is friendly and always says hello to everyone. We ordered a Prosciutto cotto and funghi (ham and mushroom) pizza and chips. Will visit this cafe again See less

Very pleasant location situated next to the Watsons Bay library. We had a great Chai Latte to start and ordered the Fritto Misso. What a mistake! Overcooked Sea Food, under prepared fish. The two prawns in each plate both had their poop chutes in and were so overcooked as to make them inedible. Absolutely no care in the preparation The meal was dry as the Sahara. We had to ask for some sauce to make it edible. Even so this must be close to the worst fish meal I have ever had See less
