Tried out the Liven app (newly launched in Brisbane) with a visit to Bird’s Nest on the Run, where I ordered:
* chicken meatball hot dog, $9.50 - charcoal grilled meatball, wasabi mayo, cabbage, sweet soy glaze, on a soft Japanese roll
* added $4 to make it a meal deal, ie plus small fries and a drink
* jumbo fried chicken (for wifey), $5 - whole chicken thigh, crumbed with crispy rice crackers
Loved the flavours of the hot dog. Only minor quibble was that it got pretty messy with the sauciness and the soft bun... but worth it! I liked the fact that the drink options are not just your usual Coke and friends varieties. I chose one of the other options with Japanese wording on it (something in white grape flavour), though a friend pointed out that it also had Malay wording on it and turns out it’s made in Malaysia! Oh and there’s complimentary miso soup which is pretty nice.
