We went there after a show in town and made the online booking for dinner for 8.45pm (kitchen was meant to close at 9pm) and we were reassured by the staff that it was not too late to get food. Despite the fact we ordered as soon as we arrived (one pasta dish and one pizza) and we were clearly the only table of 2 left to serve before kitchen closed, for some reasons the pizza chef decided to start making the pizza just after 9pm. So did the other chef who only had to cook the pasta for less than 10mins and serve with a pre made rugù. We ended up having our meals served at around 9.20pm after asking the staff why ot was taking so long. From where we were sitting we could clearly see that both chefs were more into cleaning the kitchen than serving the last 2 clients. About the food, pizza was ok just lacking of salt in the dough, while the ragù was barely there. Unfortunately the experience was underwhelming, but I hope it was just a bad day. See less

Hands down the best pizza in town and possibly in the country. I’m from Melbourne and I take pride in knowing best pizzerias in my location, let me tell you they are up there with best ones in Melbourne. Excellent and tasty tomato sauce, no not too sweet not too liquid, just right. The crust is bang on! Absolutely firm, and delicious. I can possibly eat the crust as fine bread on its own. Finally toppings are made from fresh and finest products. I think 6 cheese is the best cheese pizza I’ve ever tasted in my life! Well done and please keep up the good work! See less

Hands down the best pizza in Adelaide. We spend a couple of weeks each year holidaying on Adelaide’s beautiful beaches and no matter how far the drive, several visits are always on the itinerary. Well done to the chef, he works so hard and every pizza is consistently perfect 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 See less

Had the pleasure of dinning at Blue Velvet several times now. The pizzas are the real deal. Light, authentic and full of flavour. The Ala Palla pizza (larger) is perfect for a couple. This time was for a birthday and Ilenia brought out our dessert with a candle in it (without asking) which was a very nice touch. This is a premium pizza and dessert experience. Highly recommend. Vibrant and cozy restaurant serving a variety of pizzas and desserts. Pizzas are oval, large sized with generous toppings perfect for sharing. The dough is soft and chewy and digests pretty fast. Felt full quickly but got hungry quickly too. The flavours were very subtle, and taste healthy. They weren't oily. Best flavour was the salami and olives, smoked salmon.. Mushroom made the pizza really wet. Too much moisture from the mushrooms. Flavour was not bad. Could add a little bit more salt to all the dishes. Croquettes were crunchy and decent sized. But could also use a bit more salt. Pizza fritta was not bad. Need to serve the pizzas with a pizza cutter, had trouble cutting up the pizzas with our knives. Cakes look good, hope to try those someday! See less

I celebrated my baby shower here, and I cannot recommend Blue Velvet Artisan Pizza & Pastry enough 💙 The high tea was absolutely delicious with everything so authentic & handmade, the variety of teas available were beyond amazing and just the overall atmosphere made the entire experience so enjoyable. Thank you so much again to the accomodating and kind staff, we all had a wonderful time and will definitely be back ☺️ See less

Suppli was really nuce for starters. We came especially for the pizza. Big pizza was really big! We had 2 toppings on it - Rossa and Parmigiana. We were quite full and couldn't finish it all. Will come back for desserts another time. See less

Obsessed. I cannot fault a dish, I can only struggle with what my favourite is. After this weekend’s experience it is definitely the Blue Cheese and Spicy Sausage pizza. Consistently delicious, consistently great service - well done Blue Velvet! See less

A meal at Blue Velvet restaurant is a real treat! Friends recommended it to me twice so I had to taste and see it for myself - now it is in my top 10 Adelaide restaurants. Blue Velvet has real character and ambiance many modern and trendy restaurants are struggling to create. There were so many aspects of the restaurant I enjoyed! Top service - of course, fresh, delicious & quality food, beautiful decor and an inviting ambiance. The open kitchen can be seen toward the back as you walk in with many eye catching dessert displays near the front. Oh and they even have a full, separate dessert menu and a tea sommelier for tea lovers too! Dining at Blue Velvet was one of my favourite dining experiences hands down in 2020 and 2021! I can’t wait to go back and also bring visitors with me there too! Thank you Blue Velvet for a wonderful night! See less

Nice local restaurant. The staff were friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. The pizzas were really nice; not too heavy or oily. So glad we tried out some desserts too. The Torta Mozart was delicious, as was the Apple Crumble. Overall, a nice spot for dinner. See less
