I guess this place has different owners, we visited before and loved it but now is just average. My chicken burger was dry. The chips were also disappointing. Very little bacon and cheese sauce. The drinks and one burger was truly good. And the staff is also fast and friendly. Cheers and n that! The guy that received our payment at the end tried to make small talk and we could follow but was very uncomfortable when he said racist comments about China. We both are immigrants and is the last thing we want to chat about. See less

My boyfriend and I were at Brooklyn Depot for dinner. We asked the waiter for 1 chips with 1 burger as we didn’t want to get chips each as they are an additional cost. We received the chips in one bowl. When my boyfriend went to pay (he was being served by the manager here), they were charging us $8 for the chips instead of $4. My boyfriend said we only ordered 1 chips. He said to us if everyone changed their mind when they went to pay, they wouldn’t be here. He said the chips we got were for two but in one bowl. I then said but we only asked for 1 and we only got one bowl of chips like we thought we had asked for. He asked if we were really complaining about $4 which we both said yes to. He then laughed and shook his head and said it was a share bowl and we said we don’t know their sizing so we wouldn’t know if it’s for one or two people when it’s one bowl. We said this seems to be a common problem here by what he is saying so maybe check with customers before putting it through as shared as we specifically said 1 chips with only 1 burger ordered. He then got the waiter and she apologised and he was still saying he couldn’t believe we wanted $4 off. My boyfriend said you are to take the $4 off as we only ordered and received 1 bowl. My boyfriend then said if you can’t let us pay for what we have ordered then we will write a complaint. He then angrily leant through the window and said “don’t you dare threaten me with a bad review you little shit”. The waiter told the manager to calm down and said he can take the $4 out of her hourly rate. The waiter looked so terrified of the owner. I really felt for her. The poor waiter ended up serving us and we didn’t pay the $4. However, we will never go here again. Absolutely disgusting unprofessional behaviour. Customers should never be spoken to like this especially when we were calm and did not talk to him like this. See less

Used eatclub (see app) offer of 50% discount on food and drinks. Brooklyn Depot is a casual dining establishment serving American style food - burgers, hot dogs, ribs, wings and salads etc. Local Gold Coast craft beets on tap and imported beers in stubbles. Service was good, food was served promptly and hot. Beer could have been a little colder. Overall good value when using the offer. Would visit again to try something different. See less

Best burger joint in town! Ive been coming here for years and they never disappoint. The staff are friendly, attentive and are always willing to explain the menu and provide suggestions based on your dietary preferences and requirements. In terms of the food there isn’t any menu item that is off limits. I want it all! Grab your mates and your appetite and make your way to Brooklyn Depot. I will definitely be returning. See less

This is a very good restaurant with amazing food. The portions are large and they are very tasteful. Highly recommended to add the extras to your order of chips. The cheese fingers and onion rings with bacon and two cheeses add another dimension to otherwise standard chips. The meet used for the burgers is seasoned locally giving it a very nice and original taste. The only thing that I would suggest is to give the tables a better cleaning. We were the first customers of the day and the table we took on the outside deck were all sticky. I’m not sure if it was because someone used it while they were closed, or someone spilled a drink on the last shift or maybe it’s just the humidity of Surfers Paradise reacting with the varnish on the wood, but even the serviette was difficult to pick, as it was “glued” instantly. Maybe it was just bad luck. Any way, we were there for the food, and it was fantastic. Really pleased to recommend it to anyone. See less

Food was ok. Not really American style - hotdog is a sausage and served with cold cheese sauce. French Dip - nice sandwich but not really a french dip - thick chunks of tender beef (should be thinly sliced!) Nice cheese (should be swiss cheese though) served with a bowl of thick gravy (Should be Au Jus) Nice roll but not a baguette. Nice lunch, just not what we expected. See less

Sweet American themed restaurant tucked away in a food arcade. The burgers are well sized and filling, have heaps of flavour and you can hold them without the insides falling everywhere. The loaded 'garbage' fries and sweet potato are also very good and satisfying! And to make it better, all the options are well priced! Spread the word, burgers that are actually affordable. Going to save this place for recommendations to anyone travelling to the GC. See less
