Absolutely appalling! For weeks now I had been bragging to my partner about Cafe Lingo and how great their coffee was but on that specific day everything, especially the customer service was disgusting! I'm ashamed that I even talked about the place in such a manner. We entered the cafe at 1:45 pm and ordered two simple salads (Caesar & Greek) at 1:50 pm nothing extreme. However for those two simple salads we had been kept waiting for over 45 minutes. Mind you this is no high end cafe, nothing extraordinary about the cafe so I do not believe that they can have excuses for taking that long.
After the store had cleared and we were the only ones left, we finally asked them how long it will be until our salads arrive and they told us 10-15 minutes more minutes. Which was absolutely horrendous! When our salads finally arrived we asked the woman why it took so long and all she did was giggle and say 'sorry'. She clearly couldn't understand nor speak any English! I'm not saying that they shouldn't hire their grandmother, auntie or whatever but they should have standards when they hire people and staff should be able to understand and speak English. I work in retail and used to work in fast food so i really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because I understand the pressure and stress that comes with working in such jobs but my patience and understanding is only limited. The coffee was alright (Usually great) the salads were definitely not worth the wait. Hopefully if you have such a strong urge to go to the Cafe, you have different staff. See less
