HUGE JUICY DOUBLE CHEESE burger - exactly what it is. The chips serving size was huge also. Bummer it's not American cheese in their burgers, but nonetheless this is satisfying and great value. See less

OK. I've not had a bad experience, they're a wonderful lot of staff but let me tell you about Jack and the chips. The burgers here are the best I've ever had. I've lived in the USA, I've eaten burgers all over the west, I've never been in a situation, unable to say anything about a burger except "oh my god" until I had one here. I'm not religious, but I think I've had God's burger. Specifically, the Jack Burger. Holy moley, I reckon I've put a few kgs on since I discovered this a few months back. Also, the chips are mouth watering crunchy goodness. The best in Canberra I've managed to have. Seriously, if you haven't eaten here, give it a go. The breakfast I've had was great too. Everything's good, but the burger stuns me. Every. Time. See less

Really love the breakfasts, melts, parmis, pastas, and burgers here. Still, the highlight has to be the thickest thickshake in Canberra. I always get lime, but that’s just me. Nothing like a chicken burger with chips and a great big thickshake from California Diner. See less

Great coffee, best bacon and egg rolls and open an hour before everyone else. Staff are 120% committed. They used to look after my 100 year old Grandma when she went in. See you guys in the morning :-) See less

The food was exceptional and the friendly service was amazing. Even under COVID19 restrictions the owners ensured exceptional service, quality management of the flow of customers through the diner with all precautions adhered to and enforced in a friendly and professional manner. All credit to Victor and Niki for trading through these difficult times and not letting their service or quality of product slip for a minute. I would highly recommend a visit. Without a doubt the best chocolate thickshake I have had, everything you want nice and thick and full of chocolate flavour not cocoa. And the pancakes just yum. I have never been here but I’ve been told it’s fabulous. I’ve heard the dishes and utensils are exceptionally clean- especially on Fridays and Saturday’s. I imagine the dishwasher is outstanding at his, or her, job and I would like to make my appreciation publicly known. Please let’s not let the work of these good men and women go unnoticed. My only problem with this diner is that it’s known for its American food and as an American I would really like to experience this for myself. See less

Came here for lunch with a friend recently and had a wonderful meal. The food was well portioned and delicious made! I had a crackling pork belly that was a special at the time. It looked wonderful with beautiful texture and taste. The staff were also very friendly. Definitely would come back again! See less
