About 6 to 8 years ago I found a Gem (Captains Choice Fish & Chips & The Most Beautiful Juicy Lamb Souvlaki of course Greek Style) when I heard that there was new owners I did say to the son of the old owner this take away will never be the same & he said give them a chance! So I did and ordered a Souvlaki 2 months ago and it was different & I thought it might have been a bad batch!!! Well I did go back yesterday 22/6/21 & got 2 Souvlaki's & my guess as good as anyone who's reading this as it was terrible bland, dry, tasteless & I could not even smell the lamb(Mind you I drive to this place from Ringwood) I must say it was a very generous portion of Meat(what ever it was) but did not taste like lamb & as I got 2 of them & 1 of them was for my 14 year old daughter & she questioned me if this is lamb daddy???well I don't think it is & We will never be back. What a shame See less

Ordered here today and regret it. Myself and my partner have had, extremely painful stomach aches after eating the food here. And the potato cake had a big hole in the middle, looked like a pineapple ring. I never want to experience feeling this sick again See less

Too oily, rude customer service. Since new managment place is toxic. Stay away if you want succulent moist flavoursome food. If you want dry meat with no flavor and rude customer service then this is where you will find it in bucket loads!!! See less

So disappointed. The fish was bland and so much batter and I don't think it's fresh anymore like it used to be. The calamari was crucified. It was the worst I've ever had anywhere. It was dry and rubbery. The prawn cutlets were also frozen and not fresh. This place used to be the best. It's gone downhill bad. Do yourself a favour and skip going here. See less

Place has gone down hill since it changed hands. Fish didn’t taste as fresh and nice as it used to. No salt on chips. Fish and chips must’ve been dumped straight out in the paper without draining first. Judging by the amount of oil on the paper. Shan’t be going backing again. Judging by the amount of customers in store as what used to be under the previous owners they’ve lost a lot of customers. See less

Chineese Owner is rude, impolite and for the sake of 5 drink cans has lost me as a long term customer. This was the best and most generous show owned by a Greek family. Since the change in owners it's been going down hill. If you love your self stay away from this shop and rude chineese lady. Shifty changed sizes of souvalaki open platters too but charging extra 2 bucks. Absolute rip off See less

I'm really confused about how the lady serving got my simple order wrong. I askedlasked for a lamb souvlaki & lamb lunch container which comes with chips & salad. Now she asked me what size for the container & pointed to small, medium & large containers, which I presumed would be for the whole meal eg. lamb, chips & salad. I paid a LOT, left the shop while it was being made per their COVID request. When I picked up my order, I thought it looked a little strange, I was given a large foil container & a large polystyrene container which I assumed had my souvlaki in it & I thought that was weird. I get home to find NO souvlaki, the polystyrene container had my lamb, chips & salad & the foil container was full of meat!! I don't know where on earth she got me asking for a huge container of meat from, but it's definitely not what I asked for. I won't be coming here again, my order was so simple & she got it wrong. Not impressed at all & I cannot recommend them. See less

We were probably one of the few families that had gone off this place under previous owners (they were a victim of their own success). But we thought we’d give the new owners a try and were pleasantly surprised. Solid food and the obligatory extra potato cake thrown in. So go and and give them a go! See less

We ordered takeaway from this place twice now. Food is delicious! On top of that, I’d like to say their customer service is on point as well. Recently I ordered some take away through door dash. Once it delivered, I found my 5 jam donuts were missing. So I called the shop, they checked my order and offered me a refund immediately. But me and my partner were really craving for those donuts, so we asked if we can pick it up later. When we got there, my partner got the donuts with no issue. Once we got home, we found out that the shop give us extra 2 donuts !!!! Great experience from a local fish and chips shop. I work in hospitality myself, so I’m very happy about my experience here and tbh they don’t have to give us the extra but they did. See less
