I could not fault anything at all about our dining experience last night. Elegant, modern decor; soft furnishings to absorb any noise; music at a perfect pitch, intimate and friendly. We chose the tasting menu with fish of the day. Everything was superb and delicious. The entrees were beautifully presented and explained. Tasty little morsels of joy. Chairman and Yip is in my top three of 60 years of dining experiences. See less

My wife and I booked late on the day and got a table. Service was knowledgeable and attentive without getting in the way. Had tasting plate and duck / pork belly main. Whole meal close to the best meal I have had in Australia. Could not pick fault with anything. It is not cheap but not over the top and given quality of our dining experience good value. Nothing bad to say about the staff or the venue. Both were great. But the food (sui mai tasting platter) gets a big thumbs down. Expensive. Small portion sizes. Forgettable average flavours at best & one dish that was completely unpalatable to both of us. We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years when we’re in Canberra but it’s gone way downhill from the days when we’d have a degustation menu & rave about every dish until our next visit. No longer worth the effort & plenty of better value options available elsewhere. See less

This place offers a friendly and quite intimate dining experience. The interior feels and looks vibrant, and dynamic, with a colour palette that engenders a sense of opulence. The staff are well presented and always check at the right moment to make sure your dining experience is going well. They also splash a little humour into their interactions just to give you a giggle here and there. Good fun! Like the venue and staff, the food doesn't disappoint. Our group had the banquet option and it was more than enough to feed the eight of us. The variety of dishes was broad, as were the flavours and textures; and all cooked to our tastes. One of our party was vegan and the food put in front of them couldn't be faulted either. Portion sizes were good and everyone got to try what they wanted. Nothing ran out. If fine dining and Asian cuisine are your thing, get yourself a table here tout-suite. See less

A bit disappointed with this place. For the tasting menu price, the flavours were average for me, and portion sizes on the smaller side. Forgettable meal. In picture: Siu mei platter, prawn and scallop toast and spanner crab with kohlrabi. See less

Chairman and Yip are arguably the best Asian restaurant in Canberra. They are worthy of a chef's hat and I'm sure they will regain this recognition in 2022. It was a shame they lost their hat in 2021. See less

We were waited by Derrick, and he made sure we had a perfect evening. Our night had highs and lows, but the reliable constant was the outstanding service from Derrick and the staff, and the delicious food they provided. They were more than welcoming for my little sister who is vego, and were gracious enough to even let us take a photo with the delightful team. Really great people, and great place. See less

Had an excellent meal last night. We did the $75/head Christmas menu and portions were very generous, varied and tasty. The service was also attentive and consistent without being intrusive- some of the best I've had in Canberra. As we were the last sitting were able to linger a bit longer which was nice given the (understandable) reduced sitting times due to COVID. Highly recommend. See less

Got takeaway banquet and it was a taste explosion. They were nice enough to sub the lamb for the pork with ginger sweet dark vinegar and that really made the night for my kids!! Great portions, can't fault it especially for takeaway. See less

This restaurant is the highlight of the trip to Canberra. We had the tasting menu ($88 per pax). Every dish was a delight, the taste was just divine. And from the restaurant manager down to every single wait staff, everyone was friendly and ready to help. Can't recommend this place enough! See less

I was here for dinner with a large group. Firstly, they made the booking process extremely easy and were very accommodating to our needs and dietary requirements. The food itself was exceptional! It was a modern inspired Chinese restaurant. It provided complex flavours and an extremely filling meal. The service from the restaurant is also highly reccommendeable. Each waiter was knowledgeable, patient and very professional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. See less

As a Chinese, I'm always apprehensive when it comes to decadent Chinese food as it may be altered so much that it's no longer suitable for native Chinese. Owh boy was I surprised, the food way amazing. Using flavors that was familiar to create new combinations is pure genius. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. See less
