Exceptional meal. Read about this place & we were not disappointed, do book as tables inside full on a cool Tuesday night. Orderered King fish creviche, it melted in our mouths, pork skewers, beef cheek massaman curry & 12 hr penang curry lamb shanks - every bite was tender & delicious, this country girl says they know how to cook meat beautifully! Good wines/service, nice atmosphere. We will return to try their other dishes. See less

Service was very poor we had a small complaint about the curry and asked them to cool it down a bit add some coconut milk or whatever and we were talked back too and offered nothing no help. Could not eat my meal and still had to pay for it. Spice level indicated as 1 out of 4 which you would expect it to be manageable. But the complaint isn’t about the quality of the food really it’s the lack of respect for the customer and the fact we were made to pay for the treatment. See less

This Laotian restaurant is a great addition to Kingston's restaurant scene. As a Thai chef myself, the care and passion that is in every dish is felt and tasted in every bite. Hailing from his home land, Aiden and his staff managed to capture the true tastes and essence of true Laotian food passed down his family. The menu as well is rotating with different styles and types of dishes, serving us variety and more curious and exotic meals. Loved our experience here! We have a little one and they had high chairs on hand, which was excellent. Staff were great in assisting with ordering, advising of the favourites or selections they prefer. Will definitely go back again. Massaman curry is delicious See less

I came here with a group of 13 people on the third opening night. It felt like the restaurant has been open for years. The service was great, our orders were taken timely and staff were attentive. The food came out promptly and presented beautifully and smell amazing. The food not only taste authentic but sooooo delicious. And when I read the story behind the restaurant and their food. I felt blessed to have shared a part of their family recipes. 👪 You can tell the chef put so much love in their cooking. 20/10 recommend to try it!! I'm 100% coming back time and time again to try everything on the menu!!! Can't wait. See less

The food was absolutely sensational! You can tell the owners have put a lot of thought into the concept, the menu and wine list. Truly authentic Laos flavours with fresh ingredients. I never knew how much i loved lemongrass until our night at Champi :) Highlights were the Barramundi fish caked and the soft shell crab curry! Cant wait to try more of the menu at our next visit! We had a wonderful time dining at Champi. Each dish was unique and packed with flavour. We especially loved the massaman lamb curry, the meat falls right off the bone. This is a restaurant you don’t want to miss. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Asian food. See less
