Really bad experience. Bad food with unprofessional service. Totally forgot my coffee and my daughter’s breakfast after 45 mins waiting. Asked waitress twice and ended up with no any response. Never come any more! See less

Started out as an excellent night but ended a bit messy. But I decided to give 5 stars considering * the staff at the front who took us to our table, who was well mannered, friendly and lovely / * the staff who took our order who was again friendly and professional / * Drinks, entrée and mains were served in a timely manner and were excellent . We loved it. That's where it ends. From dessert it went down hill. To me ,First impressions and customer service count more than any thing. So I decided to leave out poor service by the manager, who was no where to be found when staff needed help. When paying your bill make sure you are paying the correct bill. If you are asking them to add the bill to your room , check the bill before approving. Our bill was already added to someone else's room See less

Paid $100/head for a Valentine's "Date Night" dinner - very disappointing. Our table was crammed in beside three other tables in a largely empty restaurant, with all the valentines customers along one wall - not so romantic. The meal consisted mainly of cold preprepared selections that were clumsy and bland. The highlight was the main, but the lamb had large sections of unrended fat, cold puree and the chicken was quite dry. The wait staff seemed nervous and unsure of what to do - hint: at least top-up the customer's water and offer to pour the wine. Even the rose on our table was half dead, still with all it's thorns. All in all a very disappointing evening, not at all what we were expecting for the price. See less

Very disappointing, we ordered two entree and only one arrived, we had to wait for the entree to be cooked. When our mains were delivered the sauces and some of the pureed veggies had a skim on them. Obviously set aside and kept warm. The lamb dishes were asked to be medium but were on rare side with blood oozing out. Salmon was overcooked. We didn't wait around for sweets. See less

Was a last minute get away with the family to Canberra and this hotel came up, the restaurant is amazing there we had lunch dinner and breakfast all amazing! The roast chicken amazing for dinner and the veggie breakfast (with bacon) Delicious! See less

Sat for 25 mins before being served. Food was amazing. Service was appalling. At $50 a main, I was shocked. We had to clear our own table to make way for the cake. Once I mentioned the fact I had to clear our own table, I was laughed at. The restaurant was empty - apart from the waiters friends, who where getting 5 star service! Even after the cake, our main plates were still sitting there. They staff were too busy chatting behind the bar. For that price, I expect not to do their job for them, won’t be back. See less

I finally made it for lunch A small and precise menu available and we both had the steak sandwich. It was good in that the filling was cooked perfectly. Shame about the bun it was wrapped in though. Served with a delightful Shiraz from McLaren Vale I was told, unfortunately the wine wasn't poured at the table so I didn't see the label. The ice cream for dessert was great. Coffee was good. All in a historical setting, this is what great hotel dining rooms in the past felt like. The room was empty and it doesn't deserve to be. I will definitely return for lunch in the near future to try some more menu items that I like to eat at lunch. Service was good See less

Lunch menu was very basic but meals were well made and came quickly, so resulted in a smooth lunch service especially considering it was almost completely full inside and quite busy. Staff were friendly and personable. Will be coming back for dinner after seeing that menu. See less

Perfect chill spot in the garden for drinks after work before dinner. Dinner is always delicious, well prepared and quality. Love the organic pasta w butter sauce! Recommend adding prawns. It's always nice when the team there remembers us and looks after us. See less

Small portions (seeing older photos) and limited menu unfortunately due to lack of supply from lockdown. Still, it was quite tasty. Service is great - friendly and quick - and room looks like it would have had good ambience in normal times. Hoping to come back and try again when things are back to normal. See less

Great place for dinner, visited twice over the last week, to and from the snow. Rib Eye steak cooked to perfection, they have a kids menu as well, son enjoyed their pasta and fish & chips, fish was fresh! See less

Friendly staff and dinner was ok, a bit over priced though compared to what you can wait other places. Fish was nice but lamb was no good. $35 for the fish and $42 for lamb are way over priced... Had to wait a bit longer for the dinner... Breakfast was good with variety of food to choose in the morning. See less

On Tuesday night this week I was invited to dinner with a former work mate from Darwin. He was in town to do some teaching at the Australian National University and asked me out to dinner so long as I could nominate a good place to get a steak. I suggested Chifley's Bar and Grill in Barton. Chifley's Bar and Grill is located in the Kurrajong Hotel. We both chose the wagyu rump steak which came with a cauliflower purée, cherry tomatoes and beans. My friend also asked for a side of chips. I asked that my steak be cooked rare and to be served with a Bearnaise sauce. The waiting time between ordering and receiving our plates was relatively short. The service was warm and friendly. The steak was really nice. It was tender, it tasted beefy and the Bearnaise sauce was a great accompaniment. I stole a handful of chips from my friend and they were crunchy and perfectly cooked. I thought the cauliflower purée was a little thin and it didn't have much flavour. The cost about $AUD48 per meal. I'd come back and eat steak at Chifley's Bar and Grill. See less
