Came here for lunch on a very busy Australia Day and was thoroughly happy. Ordered the no.38 banh da cua hai phong and was blown away how good this dish was by its flavours and diversity. Being a public holiday I knew there was going to be a wait so to get my meal within 15 mins was respectable.
This dish has so many talking points, the unique red (or light brown) noodles, the savoury, sour, slightly spicy and rich broth, the beef in betel leaves, the pork sausage, the fried tofu, all of these came together so well.
I also want to give a special shout out to the wait staff here. Understaffed and flat out busy, the waitress worked like a MVP, working under pressure throughout and never buckled when dealing with fickle customers.
Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes, but no.38 is now added to my favourites. See less
