Good food let down by abysmal service and lack of care.
Food is delicious and serving size is generous for the type of experience they’re aiming for. Chicken liver is superb though would have like the brioche to be slightly warm when served. Suggest you cut up the pickled japapenos as when eaten whole they can overwhelm the delicate flavours of the kingfish.
This great start to the night quickly fell apart as after our starters, the head waiter greeted a party of around 7 guys – his inebriated mates; and sat them down on a long table in the centre. A little context – the restaurant is tiny, so the guests only had around 1m separation between the tables.
What followed for the next one and a half hours were shouting, glass banging and general boisterous disregard for the experiences of the other patrons which quickly ruined the evening.
A couple next to us asked eventually asked to be moved while another couple left after before their starters even arrived. The 6 waiters seem to be oblivious to all of this along with our empty wine glasses as they busied themselves with serving their noisy mates.
We were eventually asked if we wanted more wine - halfway through our mains while it wasn’t until dessert that we were finally asked if we wanted to move outside. At this pointed all we wanted to do was to finish our dessert as quickly as we can and get out of there.
The final letdown was when paying for the bill, the head waiter, the bald man with the beard, didn’t even inquire to how our meal was – simply charged us and that was it…
All quite a shame as the food is good and reasonably priced for the experience – the service is however horrendous so unfortunately cannot recommend. See less
