always love coming here with friends for a range of cocktails and meals! both their lunch and dinner menus are fantastic and provide so many options so that everybody is happy! the staff are incredibly friendly and comfortable to approach - on my last visit i found staff member sophia in particular to be an amazing, punctual waitress as well as extremely courteous, making sure that my friend and i were enjoying the food and that everything was going ok! :) keep up the good work couch potato! Went with my family for dinner and all I can say it was fantastic. Great food, decent size meals and a very welcoming atmosphere. It was hard to decide what to have because everything looked delicious. We were fortunate and privileged to be served by Ioanna the waitress. She was patient and went through the menu and helped us to decide on what to eat. Will definitely recommend to others this place. See less

Came here for a birthday catch up and had a good time. We opted for the American banquet which was enjoyed by everyone. Can be a little hard to spot from the road with some parking available out front or down the road. Indoors feels a little crowded if you go at a peak time so just be prepared to shuffle around and speak up. Serving sizes are very generous. You could almost escape by having one banquet meal per two people simply based on what was offered. Some of the food was a little cold and others was hot. Big juicy burger patties on soft buns is always good! Quality of food was spot on. Cocktail choices were great and generous size for the price paid as well. Complimentary drink was a nice touch despite personally not drinking alcohol. Still felt nice to be spoilt though! Despite making a booking for 8 people, we were crammed into a 4-6 person table and declined any knowledge of booking. After showing an email confirming our booking, we finally got moved to a more appropriately sized outdoor table. I'd like to come back and have another shot at this place in the future. I feel from reading the reviews there's a few things being tweaked and worked on with the feedback given being taken on board. See less

I was referred to come here, I would love to be coming back to this restaurant in 6 or 12 months time and changing this review from 2 stars to 5 as this place has a lot of potential. Great music, awesome vibe, top location, However the food was terrible onion rings overcooked, burger dry and slapped together, chicken over cooked, but we still payed full price and I understand first hand how hard it is to find good workers in this time, reputation and your name is everything, I hope you guys get there. My partner and I booked a table for 8pm, we ordered our food at precisely 8:14pm and after 45 minutes I, as the customer, had to go up to the staff to ask for an update on my partner and I's food. We had ordered fries in our order which would be considered a "starter food" for most places but we didn't even receive that so my partner and I had nothing to at least satisfy us while we waited for our food. Not sure what the long wait was for since it did not look as busy as the night we had previously dined on Sept 29 where it was much busier than tonight. When I went up to the bar to ask staff (I specifically spoke to a female staff member) I said "Hi, it's been 45 minutes since I ordered and I was just wondering if there's any updates on our food?" to which I heard another male staff in the background say "Ooooh" in a manner indicating the staff messed up in bringing food out to customers efficiently. Later on, when I got back to my table after speaking to the female staff, my partner told me that another female staff member who was standing next to said male staff made a face to him as soon as I turned around to walk away from the bar back to my table. My partner told me that this was a "wide eyes" sort of face, either expressing that I as a customer was being overly dramatic for politely asking about my food, or expressing that once again staff messed up in bringing food out to customers efficiently. I can acknowledge that making food takes a while but when there is a lack of customer service in making sure your customers are satisfied with at least some starter food while they wait for their mains, it becomes a frustrating issue for customers. I also do not appreciate the remarks/facial expressions that the staff members made - again displaying lack of appropriate customer service. My partner and I finally received our food right AFTER asking about our orders, meaning the food was probably already sitting waiting to be taken out for a bit. When the female staff member that I spoke to directly handed us our food, I told her "thank you" yet my partner and I received no apologies at all for the wait. The tacos we ordered were cold, again indicating that they were just sitting there in the kitchen waiting, and our burgers were dry to the point they hurt our mouths, particularly the sharp overcooked bacon on the burgers. We didn't even bother going up to complain because at that point the kitchen had closed (9pm). We were then told 15 minutes later that the doors would close at 9:30pm - all in all, only giving us 30 minutes to eat our food. Honestly, how do you really expect customers to eat in such little time as if it is their fault that the food came out much longer than anticipated? Long story short, there was a lack of customer service and apologies for longer wait times, staff were making fun of customers for asking about order updates, and food served was no longer freshly warm/hot. Venue is nice and food is well presented. Food lacks flavour and seasoning, including the sauces. Tried several items from the menu and this was consistent across all the food. Also, if you order via the QR system it's about a 2% surcharge to your order. See less

Was expecting better. Came in for the Birria tacos and didn't know it was served individually, while the taco meat was seasoned well, the consomme lacked flavour. Tried the fried chicken bowl with south sauce, and the chicken was really good with the sauce, without it, the chicken was bland. Onion rings were amazing!!! Pina Colada is always a win. The staff were really friendly but kept interrupting several times to clear the table, I understand it's part of their service but can probably wait till we're finished with our meal. 5 stars for the interiors, music and ambience. Couch Potato is a very nice restaurant with a level of comfort you don't get in most places. The service is casual-friendly which suits for the type of place that it is. All the staff are really nice and helpful, and you can see their job is to ensure you have the best possible time whilst there. Although we arrived without a booking, the staff were able to cater to this and we were seated outside with a heater. The outside atmosphere still done justice to the overall setting of the restaurant. The food was good. Portion sizes for what we ordered aren't too big but aren't necessarily small, and you get what you pay for. I'd like to review specifically the items we ordered and what I liked/didn't like about them. We ordered a Double Beef Bacon Burger with a side of fries, and a Brompton Burger with a side of onion rings. The Double Bacon burger, which was my go-to burger, with there being so much meat, it's impossible to resist. The name threw me off after receiving my order though, as I only received 1 piece of bacon with my 2 patties, as well as minimal sauce. Overall, the burger was good, but more sauce as well as an additional piece of bacon would've been even better! The fries on this order were cooked to near perfection, with a perfect amount of seasoning you don't get from many places, it's just a shame we didn't get more! The Brompton Burger (which is now my new go-to) was a big burger which had plenty of sauce and onion rings, and there was near no complaints. Definitely a good option. The Onion Rings were great, with you definitely get what you pay for with their generous bowl serving. They had me forcing the rest down because I couldn't bring myself to leave any on the table. The overall experience, food, service and atmosphere deserves a solid 5 stars. This review was initially written for Zomato, and I’m updating it as Google receives more views, and people truly need to know about this place. A business that well and truly gets busy near every night of the week, it’s always a good idea to call and book, and that’s for very good reason. The owner is an awesome bloke with a true vision for the concept of ‘comfort food’ with the whole idea of the place to be comforting food in a not so professional environment.. wear your pj’s, slides, beanies and hoodies. That’s the point. They’re open to constructive criticism and never shy away from doing anything that could make an already great experience, greater. This is not a place you’d frequent every night of the week for a healthy dinner. That is not the point, people come here for one of Adelaides Best Burgers, pizzas, Tacos, Chicken and more. These aren’t things for the kind hearted :) For a business that hasn't been there for very long, and is still adapting and catering for the consumers needs, they're definitely a must try. We had the Mexican to share and there was enough food for 3 people! Ther weren't skimpy on the taco fillings and every dish was seasoned with distinctive mexican flavours and very well cooked. The sweet potato fries were salted well and crispy too, which is quite rare for sweet potato fries. As an added bonus there is a wall of sauce that you can spice up your food with if you're a hot spicy lover like me :P. Customer service was excellent as they were patient with our requests and served our food quickly (and also made sure we were warm sitting outside!). They deserve 4.5 stars really, as they are better than several (authentic) mexican restaurants out there. Will return! See less

Greeted by friendly staff, food came quickly. Was a bit sad that lunch menu was much smaller than dinner menu. Burrito bowl was yummy, but not sure why it was served in a takeaway container when we were eating in. Mojito was perfect! Very keen to go back for dinner soon! See less

Dinner at @couchpotatoco: American / Tex Mex kinda style restaurant with nice burgers and tacos. If you like this style of food, then this will be a good place for you 🤤. . Double chicken burger: the chicken was nicely fried! Deliciously crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Just the way it should be! . Onion rings: can't go wrong with these 😃. See less
