This cafe has a magical position on the waterfront of Terrigal NSW. HOWEVER, after ordering we noticed dead cockroaches under our table FOLLOWED by live mice under the building as we left. Food....less than expected. See less

Great location. Dined in for Lunch. Friendly staff & meals were out fairly quick. Well presented dishes but a little lacking in flavour. Barramundi tacos we're nice but couldn't taste the Barra. The Poke Bowl with salmon looked great but the salmon was thawed & tasteless. $50 for two meals. Meh.. See less

The food seemed very nice I got the eggs Benedict at 12:30. But later that night I felt extremely nauseous. I got food poisoning from the Hollandaise sauce. I was up all night sick and not able to eat or drink anything without being on the toilet or being sick. It was horrible, I called up the cove and they asked “have you verified it off a doctor” as if I was lying. Doing nothing about the situation. I personally won’t be going again, it’s at your own risk it is very dirty…. See less

Use to come here often prior to the new restrictions and so was excited to visit again for some take-way breakkie. I was extremely disappointed to see them scamming their customers with the new restrictions. The portions have been halved (not an issue) and the prices remain the same so you end up paying for a slice of soggy toast with avocado $24! We felt honestly robbed with our entire order. We paid over $65 for a simple breakfast which left us hungry. They have lost us as costumers and we wont be returning once they open back up again. Hope they seriously reconsider what they are doing See less

November 2021 update They have created a full takeaway section now which has cleared up the traffic around the eat in area, great stuff. Had their big breakie this week to check it out. Have been trying these out at different cafes recently. First of all it’s now $28, price has gone up, most expensive big breakie I have ever seen. Sadly the experience continues to disappoint. Small serving of bacon, looked and tasted precooked. Same with scrambled eggs. Bread not buttered. Bread no where near the sourdough served by Bellyfish. A single overcooked hash brown. The mushroom had no flavour. A couple of bland sausages and some soggy overcooked tomato. Where’s the love? No attempt made at garnish, adding a relish or anything visually pleasing. For $28 this was way off the mark and way behind other local offerings. I’ll wait another 6-12 months then give them another go, really hoping at some stage The Cove kitchen gets some ambition and steps up to the plate like many of their local competitors 7 May 21 update First time back in a while...wish we didn’t $4.50 for a small coffee sheesh. And when I say small, I mean SMALL with the tiny half cups. Mine was served lukewarm and wife’s was very weak, took them both back. Both came back barely warm so we gave up. As per usual people milling everywhere and getting in each other’s way. Poor menu, service, organisation and value. We won’t be back for another year. Meanwhile Bellyfish, Sal & Co, Islandtime and others continue to make amazing food and coffee 2020 review This cafe frustrates me. Great location, view, parking etc, should be amazing experience...but it isn’t. We have been there 20+ plus times and get treated like strangers every time. Where you order and pay and collect is confused and disorganised. Food quality varies greatly. We have had to ask staff in numerous occasions not to put hot coffee right in front of our toddler. It feels like no one is in control most times. Coffee can be great or average. Give it a go for the view, the staff are nice it just needs someone to sort out the client experience and organise the place a bit better and it would be a great place. See less

Terrible experience here. We went there for a coffee at 2.50 PM, 10 mins before the kitchen closing time. The girl in the counter asked us to have take away since the kitchen/Cafe is closing at 3:00. When we were about to order another guy(beard guy-seems to be the manager/owner) asked us to leave saying that the counter is closed and they are not taking any more orders. He was very rude. But, he agreed to take orders for other customers behind us in the queue and served them. Oh, forgot to mention. We were a group of dark skinned people. Even my 8 year old asked me why he was rude and shouted us to leave the place. Such a bad experience. I think that guy should travel bit more and see the world, experience different culture and learn how to behave. See less

Great place to grab a coffee and ‘toastier’ if you’re going for a walk or having a picnic. I used their takeaway service today instead of dining in which was easy and convenient. See less

A pleasant surprise right on my doorstep at Terrigal. Fresh local seafood with a creative twist and a very modest price range - served efficiently from a oceanfront verandah overlooking the beautiful 'Haven Beach'. The service staff were courteous, polite and fairly efficient. We were there for a busy winter lunch. Some heaters were on the deck to take away some of the winter chill. The meals arrived in a timely fashion and were expertly prepared, seasoned and presented. Sampling the food from my fellow diner's dishes and I can attest to their matched flavor. The pricing seems quite reasonable for the location. I can certainly recommend the Cove Cafe and we are already planning to return. See less

This place has a Great view. I had bacon and eggs for breakfast and it was really good. They even asked how well done I would like my poached eggs great if you are fussy about such things. It is directly under the reef restaurant but not the same price you can even go between the two restaurants inside the building. See less
