They do not provide hot pot anymore. I was disappointed to learn this after arriving with friends with a booking. The food was good, but not outstanding. It is ok... it was great when it offered hot pot. See less

ordered multiple meals from UBER EATS: If you want to eat bones this is the place to go. Prices are expensive for food that has no meat at all, instead just bones. Literally leaving you starving as you can only lick the bones for sauce and have no actual food to eat. Lots of choking hazards as the sizes range from large to small sharp bones, so it’s very hard to eat without eyeing every spoonful for it shards of bone. Not worth the price let alone ordering from here again. See less

Food is good but the service is appalling. Took about 20min to get our plain rice which was supposed to go with everything we ordered (and is obviously just sitting in a rice cooker out the back), and they had to be repeatedly reminded of our drink orders. The restaurant was barely half full at the time. See less

I've had takeaway from Dainty a few times during lockdown. Spicy Eggplant, Mapo Tofu, Chinese Broccoli. It's all been DELICIOUS. The Mapo Tofu is so spicy, I love it! 🌶 See less

Food was very nice but the staff did not even speak to us. Basically we got pointed to a table and told we have an hour time lit and then didnt speak to us for the rest of the time. very rude manager and staff as another reviewer also noted. See less

Used to eat at Dainty in Chinatown which was always fantastic.The South Yarra Restaurant is such a let down. Food was good , majorly overpriced however, but the service was disgraceful. After 20 minutes siting at table had to stand up and go and ask if we could order a drink. 7 of us and it was a calamity of poor service. Each dish came out either on its own or in two’s followed by a 10-15 min wait for next dish. 7 people sharing one main at a time. Ordered main of duck never arrived. Asked if it would be long to be told there was no duck. This after 40 min wait. This place needs to seriously review its service. See less

Used to be my favorite Sichuan food restaurant in Melbourne, before, I could say they even did better than some of restaurants in Chengdu! Been there today the first time after the lock down, It’s unbelievable they provide such poor service and low quality food now! I never bad mouth someone on google review before, but this time I’m so disappointed! The poker face young male manager not even say a word or nod his head when we came, took order, finish and leave(绝对“人才”,牛B！）but that’s not really important, only is a plus, the thing really triggered me to leave this review is the “Free Range Chicken With Mushroom”, I got 6 pieces of chicken wings out of total 12 pieces chicken parts with only a few slice of mushroom from this small dish, and sold for $40! Wtf? Why would I be here? KFC is much better choice than this! See less

One of the best Sichuan restaurants in Melbourne. They have a myriad of shared dishes and also a separate hotpot menu. The cabbage and the cold noodle were our favourite. The cabbage was in between soft and crunchy, tasted salty and sour which is very appetizing. The noodle is refreshing and great to counter the oily dishes. The most authentic Sichuan food you can find in Melbourne. And this is the best out of all Dainty Sichuan restaurant group restaurants. Food were fresh, tasty and very spicy. Price was slightly pricey compared to their other outlets, but with bigger portion. Sure a place that I will be back often. See less
