Coffee is ok but they short pour, so if you order a medium... it is a small at best. And they still charge full price. See less

Ordered a Philly cheese steak. Didn’t look anything like the photos on your website. Came on an old roll with a piece of steak, under cooked onions and a lump of cheese. Pretty average for $16 will not be back. See less

I only had a tea and a croissant from here. But the croissant was burnt, there wasn't any milk with my tea despite being asked, I had to get my own cutlery and napkins despite the fact I was seated. I'd say customer service was good as they were polite but definitely could've been a better experience. I went when it was rush hour so maybe avoid visiting then as a lot of local businesses use them for their coffee fix. See less

I was there on Friday, there was a decent line for ordering and a decent amount of people still waiting on coffees. You could see the three workers on the coffee machine were trying as hard as they could and we’re doing an excellent job. Only to have someone come and scream at one girl for being there and not doing other jobs. You could see she was trying as hard as she could. A Public Service Cafe with a fancy name. Very busy with (not obvious) simple queues for ordering hot and cold food. Very generous serving of calamari and chips. Cooked just right. Chips are obviously made on site, because of the irregular sizes. Tartare sauce was brought to the table with an apology for the time taken. So good. Coffee afterwards was excellent but took a while to be delivered. Worth waiting for. Will try the Reuben Roll next time. See less

Freshly made Sandwiches and coffee. The atmosphere is also fine. Andy Michael was a helpful guy. Ask for him he will make your sandwich from the fresh ingredients. Wonderful staffs. One of the must stop cafe in Canberra. See less

Move to barton a couple of months ago and have been coming here almost everyday. Food to great. A little noisy at times, however if you jump outside in the courtyard you can escape it. Great for a Friday long lunch. See less

Updated March 2018: New owners have made DD even better. Staff as friendly as always, coffee is terrific, and burgers (try the Southern Fried) are A+. Upmarket cafe with the ability to easily manage the big lunchtime crowds of central agency public servants. Friendly staff and prompt service. Good menu spanning grab n’ go sandwiches/wraps and salads, and made-to-order (and excellent) burgers and hot food. Prices very reasonable for Barton and Canberra. Licensed, and happy hour on Friday arvos is especially recommended. See less

Staff were super friendly, and service was very quick despite how busy it was. I got a southern chicken burger and it was meh. The bun was amazing, and the chicken was juicy but it was also incredibly bland. I was expecting a little bit more for the $11 I paid for it. The chips were crunchy and hot. See less
