Modern take on tradition dumplings and Asian cuisine. Dishes have more of a modern fusion bent and creativeness to them. Menu consists of small tasters, dumplings, large tasters, and rice and noodles. On the reverse side of the menu is an extensive range of drinks, including wine, cocktails and temperance drinks/mocktails. The star dishes on this occasion was the Lightly fried chicken and kimchi dumplings, as well as the Szechuan dan dan noodles. The typhoon shelter squid was tasty and had great texture, though there was a lot of cumin salt on it. Similar with the Truffle Chips, a tad salty though the aioli was nicely balanced. Dumpling social can be busy and with all the chatter from diners combined with the trendy and decorative hard flooring and wood panelling, it creates a lively and loud atmosphere. Located in the dining precinct on the east side of Westfield Woden mall. Interestingly the Mango Panna Cotta listed in the desert section of the menu doest list any mango in it. Perhaps I've missed something there. See less

Food was bland.. not sure what the other reviews were having. Was nice once you add loads of chili oil and soy. The fish dumplings were dry and veggie dumplings tasteless. See less

Amazing food. Favourite was the sashimi and the mushroom dumplings. Tofu and cauliflower were delicious too. Eggplant was nice but I've had better eggplant elsewhere but still was alright. :) See less

This is one of my favourite places in Canberra, first place I came back to after we were out of lockdown cause I was craving it so much! The staff is really friendly and there’s always new thing to try. Prices are great for the value you get. Atmosphere is also so nice. See less

The atmosphere was nice and cosy, food was very nice! I enjoyed every dish, but the BBQ pork I had was a bit plain. All the serving sizes were small, so order more if you want to feel full. Overall, I enjoyed my experience! See less

Had the chicken kimchi dumplings, fried tofu, eggplant, pork belly and vegetarian fried rice. This is an asian fusion place and some fusions just don’t really mix well. I will say that the fried rice and dumplings were great, the eggplant and tofu was a bit of a miss and the pork belly was a bit tough but the flavour was there. If you do come here, do not order any drinks. Definitely not value for money, especially if you get a coke, which equates to about 150ml. For three people, this meal costs $126, which is a bit steep. As always social dumpling doesn’t disappoint when it comes to food. However I was extremely disappointed with the way they’re advertising and promoting the attached daily specials. So the Wednesday entree special as an example, you need to spend $39 individually on food to get that free entree. Makes no sense, so as an individual you’ll have to order at least 3 dishes by yourself (free entree would be too much food after that) to spend over $39. Have a courtesy to write the condition on the ads guys or get your marketing team to use common sense. Check attached receipt and that was 3 of us. See less

Great place for catching up with friends. The special Smoked Peking Duck was really good. The Spring Roll was surprisingly YUM !! Worth a try. However, Not a fan of the Xiao Long Bao. The staffs are friendly and helpful. See less

Aesthetic fusion dumpling restaurant. The eggplant was great. Most dumplings were good, especially the spicy pork and prawn wontons. I found the mushroom dumplings to be a little bland. The tom yum prawns were only ok and quite expensive. The menu is pricey for the portion sizes. Beautifully decorated space and lovely staff. Quick service during lunch hours. See less

Overall, the food was alright but plenty can be improved. The Xiao long bao was ok, but could have been served with shredded ginger in the sauce with a soup spoon. The fried kimchi chicken was crispy but a bit dry. The chive dumplings was quite good. The spring roll was ok at best. The crispy Peking duck was dry and you have to wrap it yourself. Serving size was just sufficient for most but I find it lacking. Also ordered a pork belly which was overcooked so it's a bit dry, but the sauce was good. The Nutella bao is not a must try and can easily be skipped. Nothing special. Service is really good though and can't fault any of it. See less

We've walked past Dumpling Social a couple of times and this time we decided to try it out. The staff are friendly, polite and approach you with welcoming warm smiles. At the moment, weekend menus are banquet only and they are definitely worth it. We had the $49 banquet with the Wagyu Cheeseburger Spring Rolls as an extra dish. The spring rolls are deliciously naughty and the Chili Fried Chicken was also very tasty and satisfying. All in all the meal and evening was really enjoyable and we will back. See less
