I'm referring only to the bar upstairs. 5 stars for ambience and expertly assembled decor like a speakeasy which is on trend right now. And the wine list is extensive and even I cluded not 1 but 2 Priorat wines from Spain and lots of variety from Australia and old world regions (for a short wine list). Food was good charcuterie boards at a function so can't comment if menu or food. See less

I want to go to Edgar’s more, because it has a great local pub feel to it, but the menu options for vegans are pretty bad. I had the cauliflower salad, that was mostly spinach leaves, hardly any pieces of cauliflower and was more like a side salad than a main. I went home hungry. See less

It was ok. I think if you're going just for drinks it's good. If you get food be ready to enjoy that sensation of over promised and under delivered. My breakfast was salty (I like salt). But that's not what gets 3 stars... 3 stars because my pizza, that had just arrived was cold. And I don't mean like, cool, easy to eat, but cold. Somewhere between taking out leftover pizza from the fridge, putting it on the counter, having a shower and then coming back to have a bite cold. They did say their pizza oven was having issues (took an hour from ordering to get the food, willing to wait for good food). But COLD. COLD COLD COLD. So yeah, go for drinks. See less

Not a bad place at all! A good atmosphere with great food. Afraid it lost a star due to the food not being brought out in order of entrees/mains, and not being brought out all at once for each course, so we were all eating at different times. See less

A hidden gem - fine dining in the suburbs! We chanced upon The Inn and couldn't be more glad that we did. The food was absolutely exceptional - from the garlic butter scallops delivered in the shell, to the melt-in-your mouth pork and barbecue chicken (like no other BBQ chicken I've tasted). We finished off with a shared cheesecake which was the best I've tasted. In addition to this outstanding food, the service was First Rate. Our glasses were never empty, dishes cleared promptly yet un-intrusively, and all with delightful smiles and warmth. The Inn was on a par with the best restaurants in any capital city internationally. Make sure you book because it was very busy - apparently it's a local secret. See less

Located in the heart of the Ainslie shops on the corner, this cafe pub offers meals from early breakfast through to dinners. You could easily spend all day eating and drinking here whilst having a good catch up with family and friends. There is parking at the front and rear of the shops as well along the side streets. Seating is available indoors and out. Outdoors is under a permanent umbrella with patio blinds and heated on cool days. You certainly won't be cold sitting outside. On this occasion meals were a little average. the Edgar's breakfast appeared sufficiently supplied though was a tad bland. Similar with the chia pudding. The chia pudding was good and recently presented though missing that pizzazz you might find elsewhere. The texture had a crunch of the toasted coconut offset the softness of the chia seeds. However the berries itself was not enough to provide zing to the pudding. Perhaps a little maple syrup, granola or infusing the seeds in more ingredients. Meals were still enjoyable though and staff are friendly. See less

Good coffee. House made baked beans in the big breakfast were excellent, the rest was ok. A little pricey. Friendly and helpful service though. Best place to sit for a coffee at the Ainslie shops. See less

5 stars isn't enough. This place has everything - great pub, brilliant wine bar and outstanding food offerings from pub classics to fine dining. Service is pretty handy too. Close to the best in Canberra if not the best. Can't lose See less

Great place, food and service always efficient. Staff are gorgeous and that chef was definitely sent from heaven. Children and pets friendly. You can find a quiet space if you need it or meet your mob after work. Just continues to outperform expectation. Had fabulous Neal there with my nephew after a day that was very busy and demanding. Restored by food and chilled, laidback energy. Nephew thoroughly enjoyed dinner with Aunt. Thank you people See less

Over 22 years Edgar's Bar 🍸 in Ainslie became very popular in the owned rights, established in the year 2000. On the 20th Anniversary hard times come as the virus closed most restaurants and pubs, somehow Edgar's Bar come through and opened the restaurant again. Became more popular as people are happy back to the restaurant 😀 for their famous meals in Edgar's Bar. Before Edgar's, an Grocery Shop was at this spot owned by the Jock family 👪, Jock's 4 Supermarket, that later closed in 1990s. The Staff so Wonderful and Helpful, polite, friendly. Edgar's has nice tables serving. Edgar's Bar 🍸 are open at 7am to 10pm. They make amazing coffee ☕ for you, or a cappuccino with a cupcakes 🧁 or cake 🎂 in the morning, to Takeaway. Edgar's morning 🌄 I have a big Breakfast, serving, eggs 🥚, black pudding, baked beans, Hash brown 😋 with Bacon 🥓, toasted Sourdough bread 🍞, coffee ☕. Also they serving Toasted Sourdough bread with Bacon 🥓 and hashbrown with coffee ☕ or cappuccino. Lunch served Barramundi Beans Oliver's tomatoes 🍅 with potatoes 🥔. Special amazing Edgar's Meat Burger 🍔 and Chips 🍟, more special Burgers 🍔 to get. Dinner time they serving, Steak and Chips 🍟, Gravy and Salad 🥗. Or Chicken Schnitzel 🐔 with Mushroom 🍄 sauce and chips 🍟 and salad 🥗. Many more wonderful amazing meals they make on the day. If you haven't yet done so, try the inn upstairs. The food is excellent, wine list great & staff are very friendly & accommodating (in particular Adam). Love the tartare, scallops, lamb & the fish - well, everything is amazing but these dishes stood out in particular. Highly recommend! See less

Highly recommend The Terrace for great seafood and BBQ. The melt-in-mouth tuna tartare was the highlight for me. We sat at the bar to watch the cooking action. Very engaging team but be warned you'll get very hot! I would have liked a hook under the bar for my handbag but a small complaint for an otherwise incredible 'pub' meal! See less

My second time here in as many days for drinks. The first time, I had a non alcoholic drink. The second time, we were just "fuelling up" on some Sangria as we couldn't afford the matched wines at Pilot. It's just beautiful at night. I still haven't been able to get in to see what Wakefield's upstairs looks like. The first time it was full, and today (Tuesday) it was closed. See less

A nice cozy bar with indoor and outdoor dining. Our party of 15 were seated for dinner in an outdoor tent and we were rather cool for awhile but once the gas cylinder was replaced in the outdoor heater it was toasty warm. Didn’t like the no contact outdoor menu app - especially when each new order came with a further tip request. The food was pub style and good apart from the pork belly which was a little tough. The fish was excellent and really yummy chips. The schnitzel was also delicious! It was nice to be invited into the bar once other patrons left. Quite a pleasant evening really and I’d like to return for lunch sometime. See less
