🍳Croque Madame
🍫French Toast
This was my first time dining at Entrecôte, a stunning venue just opposite The Royal Botanical Gardens. We were shown to a very chic outdoor dining table, very reminiscent of Paris. The service was elite, very professional but fun at the same time. The coffee and chai lattes were both so good we immediately ordered a second round 😂 Our meals were larger than expected, both had very nice taste however some improvements are definitely necessary. The French toast was a little too soggy. The croque monsieur could benefit with a smaller slice of bread, although it was amazingly fluffy, it was very bready and I had to take off the bottom layer to eat only half.

We had a little bit of a mixed review on Entrecôte, expecting something a little romantic and some spectacular food after seeing and hearing rave reviews. We were greeted warmly by their staff at the door and shown to our table in one of their 4 dining areas, their service through the night and anytime for that matter is always perfect. Dissapointingly all of their tables were so close together - like they had tried to cram as many people in as possible, I actually second guessed if I could actually squeeze between the two neighbouring tables to get to my seat. It was uncomfortable and awkward as the area was dead silent to start (530pm seating), we actually had to make small conversation with the people either side of us as you felt you were in their space. It finally got busier and i could actually have a conversation with my partner.
When dining for dinner here you must select from their 2 or 3 course menu, and you are spoilt with options to choose from. There is also a small selection of Hor d’Oevres you can add on, I recommend the spiced beef croquettes. The staff seemed perplexed when we advised them we would share our entrees and desserts, i don’t think it’s that unusual these days, we like to try everything! Their signature steak frites was what I was most excited for, I personally didn’t like the unavoidable sauce (maybe the herbs used) but every person I’ve spoken to loves it, so I believe that goes down to preference.
Everything we had was good, not great, I can’t see myself craving to come back but it was enjoyable food. See less
