Think this is my favourite chippy in town. I recently made an order and got caught up in town and they had to throw my order away. They made me a new order on the spot even though it was my fault! They're great and super accomodating and will encourage others to get their meals here. Great service and great food too!! See less

They served us pretty quickly, but then again we only ordered a couple scoops of chips. They were well wrapped, but probably under seasoned. The staff were friendly. See less

We have been getting fish n chips from this shop (and the shop formerly known as Alton Street Takeaways) for over 40 years. Best in Nelson. I particularly recommend the potato fritters (flips) as a delicious addition to any meal. So grateful for the effort and dedication! See less

Hey guys I really dont have anything bad to say other than if you are advertised as open please be open, I called twice and drove to see if it was because you were just busy but no, you're all closed. Twice now have asked for no beetroot on my burgers, both times have had it put on them. Also lettuce was brown and fish was over cooked. Curry was heated in the microwave and was given to me cold in the middle. This is over a span of a year, very disappointing as this place use to be very good See less

I love walking in and they always ask how I’m going and we always leave off where we left off. There food is to die for!, just melts in your mouth and you don’t taste the grease and oil like like most places!. Also it’s great comfort food Super lovely customer service from the beautiful owners, always bring me a smile to my face and I leave with a bigger smile. The prices are so affordable! This is without a doubt - hands down the best fish and chip experience to be had in NZ. And I have had fish and chips all over New Zealand. They have wonderful service, a knowledgeable staff and the best batter you’ve ever tasted. When you arrive you are greeted by the staff who can tell you about their fantastic fresh fish deals.
