Friendly staff are the only positive thing about this place - and that itself does not warrant anything more than a 1 star as the staff are inefficient and somewhat clueless. Chipped plates and wobbly chairs. Insufficient lighting and poor quality seating. Failure to serve main plates without being asked. Poor sanitation and hygiene within the bathrooms and kitchen. Over 1h wait to receive order when there are only 3 sets of customers. The lamb gravy tastes more like butter chicken than butter chicken that was served. Failure to clear plates and clean without being asked. And - overpriced. See less

Sometimes you go to restaurants with no or low expectations and are so pleasantly impressed. That was my experience at Ganjees last night. The flavours were crisp and clean, and the meat and vegetable dishes were well cooked and delicious. I really love Indian food and I am prepared to say that this is the best I have had in Canberra I think. See less

I think the quality and taste has deterioted a little. It wasn't as good compared to our previous experiences. I have experienced exceptional taste from Ganjees far better than other restaurants but this time it was just ok. See less

It was very late and public holiday night. Every cafes and restaurants was closed #ganjees was the only place that we could go in. Food was excellent even though they were about to close, we got best service from the staff. Saved our night♥️ See less

As we have been enjoying the cuisine from the sub continent all our lives, it is very hard for us to get bedazzled through creativity and ingenuity. The food 🍲 and the presentation at Ganjees has not only bedazzled us but also refreshed our palates. Totally recommend Ganjees if you are in Canberra. Even if you are not, plan a trip... All foods I have ordered were awesome in taste tough it took longer than expected time to serve. It would be great if they can provide both fork and spoon when main course is served. Additionally more varieties are expected under soft drinks section like salt/sweet lassi, jeera lassi, soda lime water, coke, sprite etc. See less

I'm very keen to go here gain. I dined here as part of a group of 8. We did the chef's tasting menu with paired wines and I must say we were all very impressed. The menu itself doesn't do justice to the food that is served. All courses were amazing, with a modern take on some traditional dishes. I actually ate at one of Canberra's top rated restaurants the following night and I think Ganjees is at least on par. So do yourself a favour and try the tasting menu with paired wines. See less

Unique Indian restaurant for sure. The outdoor seating vibe is awesome. Not the usual Indian food, so don't go here searching for "That Authentic Indian Food". Quantity is less, Quality is high. So go ahead and even order 3+ appetizers and you will finish them in a jiff. Might feel expensive as the quantity is less. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Cocktail menu can be better. The hosts are very nice and friendly. No baby changing station in men's room (2021 hello!). They forgot our dessert order though, but that's ok as everything else was very satisfactory!! 👍🏾👍🏾😊😊 Going back again for sure!!! Delicious Indian food - presentation was fantastic and the Butter Chicken was amongst the best I've tasted. Service was excellent and the wonderful relaxed vibe and super comfy outdoor seating is a point of difference when compared to other Indian restaurants. See less

We enjoyed the food experience, as it wasn’t too busy during the time when we went which made it a pleasurable evening. The presentation of the food is very alluring and delightful thus creating a very lovely atmosphere to the venue. Certain aspects of the food showed off it’s charm, such as serving curry in a naan bread bowl and serving up rice in a teapot. I recommend this restaurant. Honestly would not have gone without watching the Hoyts advertisement. See less
