I hadn’t been to The Grand in a few years. Went last night and had such a great night. I had the chicken souvlaki and it was fantastic! Tender, flavourful chicken, heaps of beautiful fresh salad, and a nice side of chips and tzatziki. Good prices and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend for a pub meal! See less

The food was not great, I've had better food in shopping centres. The wait staff were friendly. The kitchen was so slow that it was ridiculous. We waited almost an hour and ended up asking where our meal was as we were ready to leave and go elsewhere. It was not busy, there were some people outside but inside maybe only 30% of tables were in use. I understand Covid has caused problems with staffing but that did not seem the case here. Even the wait staff were embarrassed and apologising when they saw we were still waiting. Not good enough. See less

This used to be one of our favourite restaurants. So disappointed when we ordered our Seniors porterhouse steak $24 I’m not complaining about the price but I asked for medium but got rare and it was so tough. .Not going back.. See less

Under new management and now gone downhill. They can't get the Guinness to pour so they just took it out completely. All the regulars now go elsewhere. The bar food used to be good, ribs etc with offers etc. Now it is WAY over priced and dog basic. Won't be back. See less

Basic but good. I had chicken schnitzel with veg. Only downside was I received a piece of schnitzel that had been cut in half! Presumably because it was a seniors meal. Mean I thought. The previous owners always gave a full sized piece. See less

My family always go mostly to the grand from the time we move to Mornington in 2008 and I can say so far from that year up to the present even with the new management; we are still happy with the food and the service that they offer. See less

It was ok, wouldn't say great, or no wow factor. Sunday lunch around 1230, was fairly packed but we got seated (appreciated). Was fairly close to other diners and I felt there covid density quotas were prob exceeded on the dining floor, but push on. Food: Satay chicken entree- good size, average taste. Chicken schnitzel- again ok, veg a bit dry and no offering of any sauces. Side of mashed potato was good. Special board is up on the south wall, no mention of that to I noticed it after we ordered. 20 min wait time to receive food. Overall, average...good serving size, but food quality a little average, again with no wow factor. After 1pm the line to order was constantly long. If you go there, check the hallway to the back door and toilets for some great historic pics of the area. See less

A grand old building newly refurbished. Meal was good for a pub. Staff had a problem with not looking at the customer's, seemed too busy to actually get to take an order. Place opens for meals at 6pm. As first ppl in there it was 6.20 before orders taken. By 8pm the place was very busy. Pork schnitzel and chicken schnitzel were both tasty, great chips and the salad was pleasant. Sticky date with cream, seniors size was more than enough to finish a lovely moderate priced meal. Get the service right and this will be a much better experience. See less
