New owners are lovely. Atmosphere at GWH always good. Chef needs to tidy up their act. Chicken was dry and inedible, brisket was ok but should have been sliced across the grain. Potato bake suffering from reheating too long, dried out. Decent dressing on the slaw wouldn't go astray. Would have mentioned this at the venue had someone asked us how the meal was. See less

Called in to have a look today and ended up having lunch. Our meals was beautiful. I had the old fashioned burger and asked for a soft egg. That's exactly what I got. Hubby had a bucket of prawns which he enjoyed. Great friendly staff. Owners only been here for 4 weeks so i wish them all the best for the future See less

We stopped overnight in Rockhampton and had dinner at the Great Western Hotel. I believe the hotel has just recently reopened. Our dinner wad amazing, I had steak, it was cooked perfectly, nice potato bake and fresh veggies. My husband had spaghetti Bolognese which he said was good. Staff were very friendly. We went to Great western hotel for dinner last night Hubby and me booked our table at 6:00PM And luckily we decided to go in early and order straight too. We got the ribs and chicken wings special offer for $25 every night (limited stock til sold out) Everything was spot on. Especially the Cajun Mini Mignon was 10 out of 10 and calamari was so soft and just cooked perfectly Chicken wings ran out right before we ordered our meal, so we got southern fired chicken with pork ribs Sauce with pork ribs was a bit too sweet for our liking, but it was still really yummy Definitely a hugh meal for us. And With so many people were there last night, all the staffs was doing their best and managed really well Well done ! We will be back for sure :) See less
