There were 2 guys – one taking orders and the other cooking/prepping the dishes.
Placed an order for 2 lamb Yiros, 1 chicken Yiro and 1 fish & chips. The guy taking the order mentioned that fish n chips would take a good 30 mins, so we told him to go ahead with the rest of the order (without fish n chips) and we’ll decide on another order in a min.
When we got back in a min with an alternative order, we were told that anything which needs to go in the fryer would take half an hr at least. At this point of time, the other guy cooking/prepping barges in, raises his voice, and says ‘The more time you take, the lesser time to cook and more time wasted…’ I smiled as I thought he meant it in a humorous, light-hearted fashion…. And then, he stared at me and again with a loud voice said ‘I’m serious…’
Needless to mention that we just wanted to leave at his unruly attitude and tone…. not to mention that we had to heard this for dishes that he could not serve in under half an hr from a Food Truck! Can only imagine how long he would have taken if he was a Chef at a fine dining restaurant! He was Gordon Ramsay – to the Customer! & without the good food!
From the hundreds of food trucks we’ve eaten from the 25 odd countries we’ve visited, the attitude, tone and service was by far the WORST!
Thanks to the pleasant weather under the beautiful moonlight next to the jetty at Nightcliff that we somehow hung around for a few mins, nibbled what we could and left – NEVER to come back to that food truck! See less
