LOVE this Swiss Cake Store. It is definitely my Favourite in the area. The Staff are ALWAYS Polite and Friendly. My Son likes the Quiches a and my Daughter adores the Little Tarts. Their Pies, Sausage Rolls & Pasties Pastry is Smooth and Tasty. See less

What an unexpected discovery! I had heard about it from my friends for a while but never took the chance to visit and try the delicious cakes. My favourite is the vanilla slice, perfect for a light afternoon tea. The small fruit tarts can be very addictive too!!! The place is clean, and staffs are so so friendly. I had a wonderful afternoon. So i am looking forward to go back the hill top any time soon. See less

If you are looking for the best Swiss treats and other bakery goods, look no further then Hilltop Cake Shop. My family and I have been coming here for years and it still is amazing. Great friendly service with the best coffee and of course chocolate dipped biscuits, quiches and the chicken and leak pies! Yum yum yum!! See less

Absolutely will not bring going back. Whilst the cakes and sausage rolls are of fine quality, the male service attendant is rude, surly and lacks basic customer service skills and manners. Moreover, the service staff always preferentially serve their Caucasian customers. So many times I’ve been there in queue waiting for service and an Aussie guy will enter the store after me and get served before me!! Happening once - okay, maybe an oversight from them - but it happens EVERY time. Being of Asian or Indian appearance is a disadvantage when coming here. Won’t be coming back, and have advised my family and friends to not return either. There are places like Zimt or Wattle Park Bakery down the road where the service and attitude is much better See less

Iv heard so many great things about this cake shop…. Unfortunately Hilltop didn’t live up to its name. The large family sized quiche had no more then 20 tiny bites of bacon and was made with poor quality ingredients. The citrus tart tasted and strawberry log tasted like nothing but cream. Over priced and bland. Not what I was expecting. The only positive is the store was clean. See less

Bitterly disappointed . I have been a customer of Hilltop since it opened and it was always brilliant. Since the expansion I have experienced signs of increasing change to the quality I had enjoyed. Having moved away I came back especially to purchase a Christmas cake and some fruit mince pies (have always raved about these). Couldn't wait so tried a bit of everything today and so glad I did. Sadly the cake is extremely dry, no currants or peel to be found and only a few sultanas, cherries yes. Not pleasant to eat . The fat used in the fruit mince tarts has been cheapened with an unpleasant coating left on your tongue. The pastry too was not cooked through and the minuscule bit of filling dry and almost tasteless. The filling on this one was a little more generous. Happy to pay the premium but the quality was just no longer. Sad. See less

Loved my recent visit to Hilltop Bakery, main reason was to purchase a plum pudding. Decided on a 2kg pudding from Mandi’s Kitchen which our family ate with relish yesterday at an early Christmas gathering. So delicious, so naughty. I also bought at Hilltop two quiches, spinach and also an asparagus. The pastry was so light and the actual quiche was more than enough for our family. The staff is always so friendly, helpful and very professional. I’ll be back!! See less

This place is fabulous! So far we bought an apple strudel & a Black Forest cake & they taste like made by my Oma! Today we went again & bought those little beauties. Can’t wait to try! If you need an urgent (super delicious) cake fix, this is your place. Helen, the owner is a very lovely lady & her personal customer service makes this place a true gem. See less

One of our local favourites, we’re here regularly and come back for the pies and vanilla slices. Everything is so delicious and the staff are friendly. It does tend to get busy, sometimes there’s a queue but it’s worth the wait. The only thing I would suggest is if prices could be made available on display besides each item. Otherwise, we love it and we’ll keep coming back! See less

Helen, the family and the team of wonderful and passionate folks at Hilltop Cakes really care about making you happy with good food, cakes and atmosphere. At one point, I'd lost my job, and was a little down. Id drop in every few days, they never knew why, but the team always managed to have me leaving with a big smile from their food and kindness. More places should be like this. The quality of their cakes is amazing. My dad is a fussy German, and he loves how the cakes aren't fancy looking, but taste just like his grandmother's homemade cakes. The quiches always seem to sell out, and I always see happy people walking up and down the street with a big bundle of Hilltop goodies! See less
