Never coming back again. Been to multiple Hog's breath before in different states and this ruined the brand. Waited almost an hour for my food to come. And when it arrives, the steak was hard like rock. I ordered medium rare. And they offered to recook it, I asked how much longer am I going to wait, he said he has no idea. See less

We were informed early that they were short staffed, which was fine, and we really didn't wait too long. The service was pretty good, considering there only seemed to be 3-4 staff for about 50 customers. Our meals were really good, maybe a little smaller than I remembered from here before. Wifey didn't get her salad, and when asked, we still didn't get it. Also, $2.95 for a thimble of gravy is a bit rich to be honest. See less

Terrible. Do not go here. We dined in tonight and the waiter took our order promptly. We sat around for about 40 minutes. My son’s order came out first. 5 minutes later my daughters meal arrived. Wrong chips but we told them and they never came back with the correct order. My steak came next. I ordered medium rare. It was closer to well done when it arrived. My wife’s meal turned up last, but was missing quite a few ingredients. She mentioned this to the waitress, she listened, but never returned with the missing ingredients. They were short staffed, but that’s no excuse for serving food like this. I will never go back, and I urge everyone to join me. See less

Not worth the money. Got cold fatty brisket, very dry and too sweet ribs and 4 small and cold potato skin and two drinks for $80+ in total. Service is very slow. See less

I have been in this restaurant years, and it was my one of my favorite ones. However, I got quit a bad experience today. I ask for a medium rare steak, but there is nothing pink on it. When the manager came over, I can't feel any “friendly ”service which I always got before, and she keep saying because their steaks are slow cooked, therefore won't have any pink colour on the steak. I was really shocking when she said that without one blush on her face, treating us like we never have proper steak before. The way they make excuses and their altitude frankly made me uncomfortable and upset. My family and I will never come back and won't recommend any friends. See less

We have been going to various Hogs Breaths around the country for years, but this will probably be the last time we go to this one. Drinks waiter was great, meals waiter came over and when I ordered a steak, he said, "if you order it Well Done, I'll ask you to leave". Not the best first impression, joke or not. I ordered it Medium to Well, steak came out Rarer side of Medium Rare, but still tough as a boot, with a large fatty vain through it. (Tip, you can cook steaks up to Well Done and keep them moist and tender, it just takes a good cut, and more time to cook.) Wife's steak also tough and fatty, the Salad was a plate of leaves with a quarter of a tomato on top, but the kids Chicken meals were fine. Bottom line, a garlic bread, 2 bad Steaks, a chicken Caesar salad, Chicken Parmy and 4 soft drinks was $167. After reading other reviews, it would seem that the business is under new management. Anything a year or so ago is 5 stars, then a big slide. See less

Friendly staff but the food was very very average. $43 steak needs to be a good quality cut (it wasn't). The steak ordered was medium rare but it came out medium cooked. The vegetables were so over cooked that they were crumbling and water logged. This place used to be good once upon a time now it's just not worth a visit. See less

Will not be going back. Friendly service but.... 5 people ordered meals came out 1 at a time with 5 to 20 min in-between. Salmon was dry, burgers ok but not worth the price you pay, curly fries tasted of oil. No sauces came out for the curly fries. See less

Hog’s Breath cafe CAIRNS is one of my favorite steakhouse. Unfortunately Hog’s Glenelg was gave me terrible experience. That day was Saturday night. Even though it wasn’t busy, we got our steaks 1 hour after we ordered. In addition we ordered medium rare but our steak was overcooked, strongly hard and dry. I couldn’t bite it off. Anyway we send it back (I never send it back! My first time) The staff said “ we really do cook it for 18 hours “ so what !? I had really juicy and tender steak at CAIRNS. After half hour later, we got another steak but it wasn’t good. Not only that, next our table had SAME things. They said the steak was like rubber band. It’s so disgusting. We wasted our time and money. If google has Zero star, I definitely give them Zero star. See less

Located upstairs, at the end of Jetty Rd. Lots of indoor seating, and also out on the balcony when the weather is good. We had Hickory pork fingers as an appetiser, which were great, with an amazing sauce. My wife had a lite cut prime rib with salt and pepper calamari, cooked medium, but wasn't grilled enough, so was a bit light on flavour. I had the mega prime rib with smoked Hickory, cooked medium, which started off well, but I found a large seam of fat. As I got toward the end, the steak was rare. See less

I took my wife here tonight for her Birthday and our waitress was amazing. Went the extra mile to make our night special. The Chef Warren did an AMAZING job on our steaks. As a Chef myself I know how hard it is to cook the perfect 2 inch steak. Ours were faultless. I cannot recommend Hogs Breath more highly. Every detail of our food and evening was impeccable . We even got a free dessert for my wife's Birthday. Nobody does a steak quite like Hoggs Breath. It really is the only place to go for steaks. See less

I used to be a frequent diner at Hog's Breath, but since the Holden Hill and Gouger Street restaurants closed, I had not been for many years! So my partner and I decided to come to the Glenelg restaurant for old times sake. The menu was still the same, offering their prime rib steak menu and our favourite side - the curly fries! My partner ordered the natural prime rib traditional cut (300g) and I ordered the calamari prime rib lite cut (200g); we both ordered medium rare. Both steaks were good, but not as amazing as we remember. Little bit chewy but still had good flavours and tenderness. They were very generous offering at least 6 pieces of calamari rings on my steak. The curly fries and creamy mushroom sauce were still delicious, and the boss hog mushrooms we had for entree was very good too. My partner had the caesar salad which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the house salad which had a lot of rocket, which I am not a big fan of, so unfortunately did not enjoy the salad. Service was fantastic and food came out quite quickly too! See less

Recently visited for the first time in my life and loved it! The food was delicious, especially the cheesy bread. Loved the decor inside the restaurant too. But the best part was the customer service, especially from the waitress with the pink/purple in her hair. So attentive and polite! Well done! See less
