Went here for a special birthday including 5 children aged between 1 1/2 and 12. Kids food came out nice and quickly, which was great, but then had an hours wait for the adults mains, by which time the kids had finished their meals and were very restless, meaning the adults lunch was not relaxing in the slightest. We had to take turns entertaining the kids, so therefore took turns in eating. The whole process threw out our timing for the rest of the day and the plans we had in place. Food was nice, but $35.50 for, what ended up being, quite a basic fish and chips was a bit pricey. Would be good for a small group, but not recommended for larger family groups. See less

Service was average we were seated and told would be back soon to order and I had to call a waitress after a 20 min wait to which she looked put out, food also very average and extremely expensive for what we were served. Had the seafood platter $150 was hoping for beautiful fresh seafood as its on the beach and read good reviews but it was not fresh and very bland/deep fried, miss matched flavours. Beautiful location but if you want local fresh seafood it’s not the place. See less

Hands down the best seafood restaurant we have tried in a long time. To start with, highly recommend the seafood chowder followed by Cataplana seafood dish for mains and finishing off with a wonderful dessert called Pudim Flan similar to a creme caramel just more delightful. Customer service and ambience were outstanding. The window seat with a view to the ocean and complimentary Portuguese ports by the owner topped the evening off. Definitely be back!!!! See less

Fabulous as always. Fantastic food, the best view in Adelaide, friendly staff. We have been coming here since they first opened and it just gets better and better. The Cabana Club and Cabana Beach are a great addition during summer. See less

Absolutely fabulous food, service and view. All 4 of us including a Vegan rated the food of a high standard. Entree/Starters, mains & deserts were all absolutely delicious. The service was amazing, very attentive making sure everything was okay and always checking to see if you need more drinks. Me being a Foodie and very critical when it comes to eating out, l highly recommend Hortas....you will not be disappointed. A first time experience for my partner and I. Wow!!!! From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was captivating from the ocean views to the buzz of the restaurant. The staff/management were attentive and orders taken with efficiency and on a night the restaurant was full. If you love seafood and the sea this is the place to be! The barramundi fell apart , prawns were crunchy, squid melted in my mouth! Inviting menu. Superb wines and cocktails. From now on this is our new to go to venue! Great views and good selection of mainly seafood dishes but also tapas. Mains are pricier as expected for seafood; but I had a great seafood chowder for $15 which was listed as a starter but was plenty for lunch. Lots to do in this area so great as a day trip from Adelaide. See less
