Absolutely 5 stars for everything. Good fortune came my way last night when I came across this modest little place of cultural authenticity. Japanese cuisine is at the top of my "eats" list and ICHI served up the best. The restaurant has a peaceful atmosphere and genuine friendly service. I will definitely go back. Ichi has been a staple part of our lives for many years now. My husband and I are Japanese food lovers and the service, coupled with the amazing food at Ichi has been something that has drawn us back again and again. The Bento Sets are excellent value for money and in particular, the salmon is to die for. If you like different foods and different experiences, give the Jelly drinks a try (you won't regret it). Not to mention the Takoyaki which I personally ADORE. Thanks Ichi for always being amazing. ❤ See less

Absolutely hands down the best Japanese I have ever had. Authentic, the dishes are prepared skilfully and don’t disappoint, absolutely delicious on all counts. Perfect serving size, usually accompanied by a complimentary miso, the service alone is worth dining in! Can recommend any of their wonderful soups! (Especially the miso) See less

Disappointed with the ramen. I know the owner says it is for food safety reasons they cannot do ramen egg. But aside from ramen egg, the rest of the ramen was just ok though - but note that my partner and I are not fussy eaters, so it takes really bad food for us to say it's not ok. However my parents are fussy eaters, and they really disliked the curry that they said was bland, and the teriyaki chicken which they complained was dry yet mushy, and also very sugary. I know the owner always retorts to negative reviews and says it is a family run business, however being a family-run business to support a family does not entitle a business to be immune to honest unflattering feedback. My parents think it was the worst, I think it was average, so I'll compromise between the average and worst score and give it 2 stars. But hey, they're still doing well overall on ratings so majority must be happy with it anyway :) See less

Really very good. Delightful couple running the place. Top food for such an inauspicious place. Highly recommend it. A small but sufficient range of very good sake. Really high quality fish for an inland town. Very reasonable pricing. If I'm ever in Toowoomba again I'd be back here in a flash. See less

Meal options are many and varied. Excellent quality. Prices are very reasonable, including a good range of $12 lunch specials (as of March 2021). If you have dietary needs, such as gluten-free and dairy-free requirements, the chef will pay special attention to your requests. Centrally located in Toowoomba. Off-street parking available. Great traditionnal restaurant, beautiful presentation and tasty food. We had some seaweed salad, miso soups, octopus, sushi rolls and the sashimi plate. Great portion and good value for money. An adress to keep in mind for our next visit to toowoomba. See less

food was prompt. very tasty and i reccommend the calamari A+ will probably not order the selection plate again as we did not eat the plain rice.. or soup or brocolli or greens but the small plates were amazing.. the venue was a bit basic and could definately do with some styling but couldnt fault the food and service.. will be back soon See less
