There are many Indian restaurants in and around Melbourne but not ALL are same. Some very popular due to the name and some because of food & service which are very important. Indian Villa Tandoori Kitchen in Rye, right opposite the beach front is a great example of one of the finest experiences in dine-in food. The food was awesomelydelicious, we gave feedback directly to the busy chef, his staff and the manager. We were a large group of 18 people and still were accommodated at a short notice. We saved time by doing a pre-order over the phone, we were greeted with smile and were kindly asked to keep our dine-in to shortest time possible due to another advance booking for a big group right after our dine-in. We kept our commitment in return. Overall experience: 10.5/10, completely exceeded our expectations. Keep up the great service and keep serving delicious recipes. See less

Finally, the southern peninsula has some great Indian!! Took a gamble and put in a massive order for my husbands birthday. Indian is his favourite but he has constantly been disappointed with our local choices. This was absolutely bloody delicious, every single dish. You guys will become our regular. Would give 10 stars if I could. See less

By far one of the best butter chickens I've had. Chicken was tender, sauce was rich and very flavourful. I travel 50 minutes to get this sometimes to satisfy the cravings as I don't live in the area. This restaurant is my go to for Indian food. See less

Deev, who served me was absolutely beautiful. The food was & is amazing- eating leftovers next day for dinner. It smells so wonderful that I had to order lots !!! All lovely staff & super friendly🥰 Just go there. It's amazing ❤❤ See less

Amazing food. I didn’t had great expectations with the Indian restaurant in regional area but Indian Villa proved me wrong. My whole family enjoyed the meal especially my mother who insisted to have the dinner again the next day but it was closed as it was Monday. 5 stars for the food. See less

Amazing, authentic Sub-Continental food. I haven't had food this good since the last time I was in India (too long ago now unfortunately). A hidden gem that deserves much more praise. I'd love to come and dine in as there were some menu items that I didn't order for takeaway as I imagined they wouldn't travel well, but they look amazing on the menu. Tandoor lamb will be the first thing I try in-house. I'm also looking forward to trying the goat curry And they deliver everywhere! Unlike Menulog which won't deliver to my house. See less

Good Indian food. Visited twice during summer holidays, kitchen can get slammed and seem to do a lot of takeaways. Restaurants are doing it tough so be patient with the service. Food's the best In the area. Nice owner too. Prices average. See less

What a wonderful, flavoursome experience. We have been searching for a local Indian restaurant on the Southern end of the Mornington Peninsula and we have found it. Beautiful curries that were rich with subtle flavours, not harsh and one dimensional. Light, fluffy naan breads! Just a treat in a simple Cafe atmosphere overlooking the southern end of the bay. Used to all the great Indian restaurants in Melbourne's western suburbs, and decided to give this new place a try while on a post-lockdown holiday on the Mornington Peninsula. We were blown away! The chicken tikka masala was savoury, and mildly spicy as requested - just enough to tickle the tastebuds! The vegetable rice was a huge serve, even though it was "small," and the cheese garlic naan had two perfectly cooked pieces full of cheesy goodness. Washed everything down with a smooth and sweet mango lassi. Value for money, beautiful ambiance, and attentive staff added to the wonderful dining experience! See less

Moved down to the peninsula about 6 months ago. Decided tonight was the night and oh my God, The best Indian I've eaten in the longest time. We won't be going anywhere else. Quality of meat is amazing. Melts in your mouth. Generous servings and sauce has plenty of flavour with just the right spice. If you're looking for an Indian takeaway, this is the one! See less
