Disappointing experiences x2. Both occasions we’ve been here potato cakes are never provided despite being paid for. This is disappointing. Everyone works hard for there money and expect to be given what’s paid for. Despite this the food is quite nice. See less

The flake and chips were lovely! I dont know what it is about scallops in Victoria. Where do they come from? They are tasteless, everyone, no matter where we buy them!! Recently had a trip to my old home town (city) of Gladstone in Queensland and delighted in the most delicious, flavoursome scallops locally sourced. Why can't we get scallops like that in Victoria? Absolutely disgusting fish and chips from this place. The onion rings were not cooked properly were definitely not worth the $1.00 each they charge.The food was extremely oily and inedible. The female staff member was incredibly rude. See less

Rude and arrogant staff made me feel as though I was putting them out by asking them to cook a meal. No greeting, please, thank you or eye contact. Very small amount of chips and entire meal was underdone. Thankfully there are many other fish shops in town. See less

I usually go to Melton seafoods because their chip serves are bigger but were closed so I went to John's. Ordered the butter fish slightly underdone and was pleasantly surprised that it was cooked perfectly as not all fish n chip shops do as requested or possible think that its slightly under their usual cooking time . Chips size was a lot less in comparison to Melton seafoods but the meal was nice Would go back again if Melton Seafoods is closed again See less
