The karage chicken was great. We found the ramen and other main dishes to be super bland though and very average. Same with the curry. It wasn't bad but was definitely just the most okay Japanese place I've ever been too. Lovely staff though! See less

*Update* While the staff were nice, this time food took a long time to come out, and was ok rather than great. So maybe just a bit hit and miss? Cozy Japanese. Food was great. Staff nice. The place is cozy, so on busy nights try booking. See less

We were able to dine at this restaurant without a booking, and we appreciated the BYO option. The food was enjoyable, but I couldn't rate it as high as some of the other Japanese restaurants I've been to. They were extremely busy with takeaway orders which, put some strain on the lady preparing the sushi and sashimi. Therefore out of all the dishes we ordered, the sashimi came out last, which was a little bit disappointing. See less

A disappointing experience, very upmarket prices for a sub-average quality meal and long wait time. They couldn't even get the texture of the rice correct, and that is the most fundamental requirement of any Asian restaurant. I'm not sure why this is so highly rated - whether it is because it is the only Japanese restaurant in the vicinity, there is substantially lower standards in the ACT, or that I had an unlucky pick. Also, this is far from authentic. You can tell from the wait-staff and chef conversations that they are not Japanese. Do not waste your time here. See less

They probably dislike me for ordering their largest set of sushi each time but honestly it's really very good. The fish is always really fresh and the variety is great. Comes with some pickled ginger and soy sauce, as well as some wasabi. I usually share it as a large meal between two, and I think it would be a great appetiser for a party of 4-6. I sometimes order a set of tempura or the rare beef sashimi, which is amazingly delicious, only complaint would be I wish there were more of it. They've always been really good to me, the set itself takes about an hour for them to make on busy nights so I appreciate them taking the time to do it. I think the ownership of the restaurant has changed hands a few times but the sushi and nigiri has always been super solid and it is my go-to each time. See less

A lovely little Japanese restaurant in Dickson. A good variety of choices on the menu from sushi to noodles to rice bowls. We settled on some Yakitori and Yasai Tempura to start. The Yakitori had lovely subtle flavours and the tempura was that lovely balance of crispy and soft. For mains we had a Kagawa Udon, Katzu Don and Salmon Teriyaki Don. All were delicious. All three dishes had lovely light flavours, more akin to Japanese home cooking, rather than the strong bold flavours you get in some restaurants. Will need to come back for sushi. See less

An extremely disappointing experience. We ordered the salmon sashimi which came with grated lemon zest on the salmon, which we assumed was to mask the freshness of the fish. The ramen soup tasted watery and made from instant soup powder. The noodles were instant noodles. It came with sliced beef which tasted dry and old and unappetising. We also ordered udon noodles which came with the same watery powdered soup. You could literally see the stock powder that was not completely dissolved. Overall, would not recommend to anyone and would never go back. See less

Nice little seating area, the theming was cool. Rice dishes weren't the best and a bit on the small side, I don't recommend. The ramen was good! The sushi was good but wasn't really anything special. Overall everything felt average. See less
