This place is hidden gem.
If you are after authentic Pakistani/Afgan food, this is the place to go.
With angled parking out front, the small, non-assuming place smells wonderful at lunch time and is a treat for Biryani lovers, even though it has only 1 type of Biryani; Chicken (more spices) and 1 type of Pulao; Kabuli (lamb, milder spices).
Seating is limited with a raised carpeted area for those who prefer to sit on a flat surface and eat with their fingers.
The regular menu is captured in the screenshots, but they also have a "food of the day" section out front, which changes daily. On my visit, I found big chunks of fried fish (in spices), 3 kinds of curry, roti parcels and samosas.
On the day of this review, I ordered the Kabuli Pulao and Chicken Biryani.
The Kabuli Pulao had large chicks of lamb shanks, fatty, soft and falling off the bone and the rice was fluffy, mildly spiced with sultanas. It seems weird, but the sultanas worked very well with the richness of the dish and made for a nice offset.
The prices are probably the lowest you can find in the area for really well cooked, authentic food.
Foodies should definitely check out this place, but remember to bring cash. If looking for cash, there is an ANZ ATM nearby at the service centre, which takes most cards. See less
