Had the set menu but took some extras like truffle shavings on steak and tooth fish. Just one of the dishes was a bit average and dry, others fantastic. A true experience for the senses. Good sake to accompany the delicate food. See less

Have been to Kisumé way too many times since their opening. I’m now living in Paris but to be honest, they are still one of my favourite restaurants ever. Great and exceptional quality food, beautiful restaurant and staff were super friendly. A must try if you are in Melbourne! See less

Fresh Sushi and meals with premium ingredients. The atmosphere is very luxurious and this is also displayed in the price. Great wine selection. Super service. See less

Mediocre at best. There were scales in our tuna nigiri, and chicken was red in the middle. Chef said it was because it was the chicken thigh which has veins in it, but this mostly happens when the meat has been frozen before, then thawed. For the prices you’re paying I was expecting fresh meat and fish, and all prepped to perfection. Even without these digressions the taste did not fit the price. Was never wowed. Wait staff were not attentive and never refilled our water. Sushi chef were prepping and packing fish for later which was fine, but by the end of our meal it started to smell like a fish market. Quite unprofessional for Japanese standards, which though they’ve priced themselves that way, it doesn’t seem like they aim for those standards. I understand they’re trying to make it a “modern” and “trendy” concept that’s more relaxed, but it just felt lazy. Maybe they have better service and attention to detail during dinner (we dined for lunch). They charged our credit card for booking which was supposed to be refundable but it was never refunded. It was too small an amount to dispute but spoke volumes to me about the integrity of the business. The gin cocktail was nice. See less

Incredible 5 star luxury dining experience. If you enjoy Japanese cuisine and feel like being a bit extra, spoil yourself at Kisumé! Dined with a group of 4 and ordered just the right amount of food which was still quite a lot. Though more on the pricey side, the whole experience, from the quality of food and service, is well worth the high price. See less

Service was average for the amount of money you’re paying. The staff were not attentive and the food service was extremely slow. Value for money will never be a thing when eating fine Japanese food. The calamari was to-die-for! Sushi, sashimi.. all great.. pork gyoza was average and not tasty at all. Not somewhere I’d go back too. See less

Dined at the Chef's table and as other reviews have mentioned it is quite pricey but in my opinion well worth it. There's about 10 people at the Chef's table and you get to watch them at work as they meticulously prepare each meal. It's a pleasure to watch them create food that taste just as good as it looks. I don't think this is an experience you can find easily and everything from the service to the detailed explanation of each course is what makes it thoroughly enjoyable. There was not 1 course I did not enjoy but my favourite was definitely the Sea Urchin. if you're a fan of Japanese cuisine and omakase - this is a must. See less

Our second time here already with a different seating. This time we sit in front of the sushi bar, watching the chef cooking for the customer was quite fancy. I like how they decorate the background with the chef knives. Make it feel more Japanese. The food here was absolutely amazing. The quality of the fish was great. I can say the salmon that we had was as good as we had in Tokyo Fish Market. The only down side was Wagyu beef in barley broth. Well, I'm not a big fan of barley so I think Japanese rice should be better with this dish. Also I think the portion of Tuna tartare should be bigger compare to the price. The service, always friendly and attentive. We definitely come back for another special occasion. See less

Kismet is not inexpensive in any way, going there expect to pay top dollar for food and drinks. In saying that, it is worth the experience. We had the chefs table dining menu. The food and the presentation was truly beautiful. Very well trained wait staff topped of the night See less
