Mediocre at best. There were scales in our tuna nigiri, and chicken was red in the middle. Chef said it was because it was the chicken thigh which has veins in it, but this mostly happens when the meat has been frozen before, then thawed. For the prices you’re paying I was expecting fresh meat and fish, and all prepped to perfection. Even without these digressions the taste did not fit the price. Was never wowed.
Wait staff were not attentive and never refilled our water. Sushi chef were prepping and packing fish for later which was fine, but by the end of our meal it started to smell like a fish market. Quite unprofessional for Japanese standards, which though they’ve priced themselves that way, it doesn’t seem like they aim for those standards. I understand they’re trying to make it a “modern” and “trendy” concept that’s more relaxed, but it just felt lazy. Maybe they have better service and attention to detail during dinner (we dined for lunch).
They charged our credit card for booking which was supposed to be refundable but it was never refunded. It was too small an amount to dispute but spoke volumes to me about the integrity of the business.
The gin cocktail was nice. See less
