I thought given the location and the price that the food could have been a little bit better. The dessert was really good. The view is amazing. See less

Very poor service, no one to greet us , guy at entry was to busy on his mobile phone to say goodbye. Service slow had to ask for servers , spoons and water after meal served . No communication drinks or service unless we kept calling a waitress to assist, took 30 mins to get account then waitress couldn’t count had to keep running back to reception . Food very average and certainly not Japanese - it was Asian fusion . Great views and beautiful venue a shame they haven’t got their food more refined and staff trained on service and communication . Ok so this is a mixed review: 5/5 Location: gorgeous interior and views. Genuinely spectacular. 3/5 Food: lacklustre Japanese flavours. I think the description “Japanese influenced contemporary” is right, it’s a hint of Japanese so don’t expect anything close to authentic. 2/5 Service: Restaurant overbooked and couldn’t handle volume. We waited ages for food, and actually left wine behind because they were very slow refilling glasses. 5/5 Our Waitress: she was great, tried really hard, was fun and mostly attentive. If they hadn’t completely overbooked the restaurant then I’m sure service would be 5/5 as well! Would return for a drink but not meal. See less

Received warm and attentive service from the waiting staff here, including complimentary drink and cute birthday message on the dessert. Kingfish in particular was well seasoned and the sashimi dish was also fresh. Steak was a decent portion. Pork dumplings were okay, but not the favourite. The lychee mango dessert was light, fresh and sweet at the same time. Would recommend! See less

Recently had dinner there for my dad's birthday and everything was amazing! Food, service, atmosphere and view was just absolutely beautiful. We had the set menu and literally every dish was so worth it and we were very full by the end. We especially loved that they sang happy birthday and even put a happy birthday on the dessert (which was also super yummy). Thank you to the team at Koomo (especially Natcha, Ruby and Armando) for their splendid service and making my dad's birthday special See less

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and I just love the food, especially the chicken katsu sando and bao buns (which they don’t serve anymore). My experience has been good so far, just one time that the meals were served very late but everything else was great. Got quite a nice view as well. Everything I ate was about 109$ including drinks,I’m not sure if that’s pricey or cheap. See less

A 10/10 dining experience! It's difficult to put into words how delicious the food was, but I can say the chicken katsu and noodles were a huge highlight. To top it all off the staff were friendly and I gotta say I love the style of the restaurant interior. Next time I'm in Adelaide I will certainly be coming back! See less

I recently attended the most beautiful event at Koomo. The food was so delicious and the service was wonderful. I am still dreaming about the lobster rolls and zucchini flowers with black sesame ricotta. Koomo also has the most amazing views and such a stunning fit-out. If you haven’t been I highly recommend you visit ASAP! See less

Dinner at @koomo_adl - been meaning to try them out for a while because of its location, and I've heard good things 😊. The food was overall very good quality and very tasty, but I have to say some of the mains were a bit on the small side. Some of the entrees were as filling as the mains 😅. Service was good. Drinks selection was abundant. I would definitely go back again, simply because the food was good 😋. . Chicken katsu sando, bulldog sauce: this was super delicious! The bread wasn't too heavy, and the katsu was nice and crunchy, with tender chicken in the middle. Excellent dish! . Wagyu beef and shitake mushroom dumplings, chives, spicy truffle beef lardo: these dumplings were really tasty 😋. . Zucchini flower, black sesame ricotta, nori wrapped tofu, tempura with spicy miso: fried vegetable - can't go wrong 😅. . Koomo lobster roll, avocado, pickled shallots, tobiko, soft roll: wow this was absolutely delicious! The bun was super soft, and the lobster filling was nice chunks of lobster meat. Yummy 😋😋😋. . Torched salmon sashimi, wasabi, radish, soy, mirin dressing, pickled jerusalem artichoke: lovely sashimi with a really tasty dressing! . Seared Japanese scallops, miso pear dressing, furikake crispy noodles, charred snow peas: this was one of the "chef's specialties" under the "big plates" section of the menu. The scallops were very tender, and the dressing worked really well with them. But at 31$ it's a bit on the pricey side for 4 scallops 😅. . Beef short ribs, rice cakes, daikon, galbi sauce: this was such a yummy dish! The flavours were amazing, and the beef was super tender! . Charred Japanese eggplant, Dirty Inc lentil curry, cherry tomato, togarashi yoghurt, curry leaves, crispy paratha: interesting combination of Japanese style eggplant with a lentil curry and roti?! - never had this combo before! Good fusion. Good flavours. . Teriyaki Saskia Beer chicken, miso leek puree, fried potato, nori powder: the flavours were excellent, and the chicken was very tender, However, at 42$, a few pieces of chicken, although very tasty, is a bit pricey. . Crushed potato, spring onions, truffle mayo, parmesan: potatoes never fail as a side dish 😅. . Matcha opera gateaux, wild currant berry creamy: picture perfect, not very sweet, and the matcha flavour was pretty good. The opera cake's texture was on point! . Crystal pear tart, spiced gianduja chocolate: this dessert dish was so pretty! almost didn't want to break the dome 😅. I really loved it! See less

Fabulous Japanese inspired food with an Australian twist. The restaurant is located on the 10th floor of the Crowne Plaza. ** They charge $5 for still/sparkling water so be sure to ask for tap! We made a booking for Saturday night to enjoy the share menu. We sat outside, but as the weather got cold and windy we were able to come inside and sit at the bar (big thank you to the staff member who helped us in!). We enjoyed the wagyu beef dumplings, salmon sashimi, and the best lobster rolls! 🦞 For main, we had a sirloin steak, that was a bit too fatty for my liking, and nice grilled leek and cabbage. For dessert a matcha cake. The cocktails we had, the Moon God and God of Luck, were also very nice. See less

Beautiful place on the top of the Crown hotel. Easy parking lots close by. The menu is vast with lots of options from meat to fish. Appetizers are an average of 20 dollars and mains average 35. The portions are good size oy the raw fish have small portions but everything else is pretty good. The chicken sandwich as appetizer is big and delicious. The zucchini flowers is fried but still very light. The short ribs melts in your mouth and great size for a big man! The scallops are good but very small. Side dishes can easily be shared. It was my husband birthday and they gave us 4 glasses of champagne so I thought it was very nice! Service was good and fast! My only complaint would be the chairs that are a bit uncomfortable but is Japanese style so understandable. See less

Expected much, much more.. I don’t often give 3 stars. But I really don’t think Koomo lived up to the hype. We visited for dinner. The Cocktails were boring and really quite tasteless. 4 on offer, we had 2. Broccoli was slightly under cooked and a little boring. However the serving was massive. The Sashimi was very tasty and we both really enjoyed it. The crab rolls were nice, no complaints here. The “special” fish was nice, serving was a bit on the small side. Dessert was a real let down and we felt it didn’t represent the menu at all. Flavour a we’re boring and bland. (We actually didn’t finish them). I think the best part was the ice cream in the Affogato. The staff however were very nice, attentive and professional. The decor and design of the restaurant was nice, however it was noisy and I feel it needs some additional, soft furnishings or features to absorb some of this. It’s may be Adelaide’s hugest Restaurant, but it’s certainly not in the clouds. Views are ok, I’ve seen better in Adelaide. See less

We got the chef's menu and absolutely loved the food. However we were still a bit hungry at the end, which was disappointing considering the price. Staff were very friendly and attentive, however we also had a few issues with some bright overhead lights being switched on and off. I think staff kept turning them on .. But guests kept requesting them to go off as they were really bright. It brought the mood down a bit. Overall loved this place and the ambiance but for the price would hope for a bit more food. A good experience and very popular Japanese restaurant so you need to book ahead to avoid upset. We got a table on the night only based on the fact we were staying at the Crown. Layout is nice and contemporary with natural timbers and a lot of light. Not a huge menu selection and in my opinion, slightly overpriced for the portion sizes and variety offered. We opted for shared menu 1 and although it was nice, for a $170 dinner for two I would expect more. Atmosphere and views from outside are great. Staff were mostly friendly and accommodating. Keith was brilliant and engaging and served with a smile - thank you! See less
