Disappointing. Food missed the mark. The interior of the restaurant is amazing and incredibly lively. However, like other patrons have mentioned the curry fish balls hadn’t absorbed the flavour, quite bland. The lemon lime ice tea wasn’t anything special, and the rice was awfully dry. Great interior decor but that is about it. Curry fishball had barely any taste (very obvious that the fishball were only recently placed into the curry before serving hence no curry was infused into the fishball). Fish shaomai was soggy and wet, it seemed to be microwaved. Drinks came near the end of the meal after reminding the waitress several times. Very disappointing food and experience compared to the HK cafe at Rhodes Central. See less

The nostalgia that hits as you walk into KL cafe is really something special. Everything has been taken from a Hongkonger’s childhood memories and it somehow works. Service is friendly, comfort food levels are high. I ordered the beef curry, gooey egg rice and French toast. All dishes delicious and packed full of flavour. Also loved the horlicks drink. If you grew up drinking malt-o-milk this will feel like childhood in a drink. See less

Upon arriving we got turn away from 5 minutes before opening. We got our meals and waited a long while before one of the staff informed us where the utensils were stored, once our meals were brought to the table 1/4 of our meals was incorrect - of which we still were charged One of the dishes we did order was a (supposedly) special “French bread baked curry chicken rice” Other reviewers found it to be lacking in meat and mostly just bread, I found this to be correct as mine was 1/2 rice with little sauce (to even moisten the bread it was served in) and was lucky to have even 100g of meat, the flavor was good but overall very dissatisfying If you appreciate servicing without service and expensive cuisine less appetizing than your local Hong Kong restaurant/cafe, then this is the place for you. $75 could go a long way somewhere else and I urge you to rethink your next visit . Came on the weekend and it was a long wait which is fine but service was very slow. Took almost 30 mins for our drinks to come and also the food took even longer. We ordered the daily limited supply of the special baked rice in a French bread and it was a big disappointment given it was the most expensive item on the menu. There was not much curry chicken rice and it was mostly bread. I would not recommend this dish. See less

The Food is good but a bit expensive, the decor is the real charm and it brings back the nostalgia of Hong Kong. As most people have notes there is limited seating which makes it cramp and which leads to long queues. Would I come back again most likely. See less

I'm not a HKer but I've been there twice; and this place feels about as close to being in HK as you can get in Sydney. I didn't try the milk tea (as I was there for dinner and I can't drink milk tea after midday else I get insomnia), but the iced lemon tea was good. I ordered two! I had the Kowloon Big 4 and it was good (9/10). My only complain was not enough sauce. I had a sample of the Stir Fried Spaghetti with Black Pepper Sauce Pork Chop and that tasted like it could potentially be a 10/10 dish. The curry fish ball was a hit (10/10)! Just be aware that it's a popular place that's not quite big enough for the HK food lover population. So be prepared for a wait. (We waited 20mins for a take for 3.) But that's a norm in all of the good places in HK.🙂 See less

If only I can put 4.5 stars. The baked dishes can be improved. I tried the baked pork chop and rice, however it seems more like a steam dish rather than baked. It needed to be more charred/ grilled on the top. The service is great and they are more than happy to assist where they can. Most waiters can speak English so it is good if you do not speak Cantonese or Mandarin. I feel that that the ambience and decor is the best HK cafe restaurant in Sydney. See less

Amazing amazing decor. Food was lovely though we did have to follow up 1 order a few times as it did not arrive for a long time. If you're not seated on a bench there may be no cutlery, no tissues, no condiments which is a shame as you'll get a lesser experience than customers in booths. Place is very new so maybe they'll work out some kinks and address the issues otherwise a cool vibe and decor place for some HK popular Cafe food. See less

One of the best Hong Kong food in Sydney. We ordered Scrambled Egg with Prawn on Rice, Fresh Tomato with Pork Chop Baked Rice and HK Style Streamed Rice Rolls with Mixed Sauce. The Scrambled Egg was cooked perfect as it's not too dry or overcooked but mosit. The rice was good as it wasn't dry even the baked dish too. The fresh tomato was yummy as the cheese was not to much or sweet as the sauce help to keep it balance. The pork chop was tender and not dry as I thought. The Streamed Rice roll was so good and probably the best I have try in Sydney. I love how the centre of the rice roll is not dry but mosit which I try alot of rice roll and alot of them was dry inside so I was happy that the centre was mosit. Overall the food was amazing and the place is great. The vibe is like I was in Hong Kong plus the services was excellent too. Highly recommended to come here and try it out yourself. See less

Everything about this lovely places reminds us of HK back in the day. The service is great, wait staff are all so welcoming and friendly. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and authentic! The bun was fluffy and fresh. They were so busy and the restaurant was full but the food still came out at a very reasonable time. Would definitely go back again soon and highly recommend this place if you want an authentic taste of HK food. See less

Best Hong Kong food. If you miss Hong Kong, please go here to try. HK style lemon tea. Lemon bitter sweet. U don understand how good la. Pineapple bun with butter. What a evil. Paper roll with sauce. Simple is beautiful. Street food like fish ball and shark fin soup. Try try la if u still hungry. See less
