A bit of serenity in Canberra’s North. It felt like I was much farther from the city than I was. Kynefin Cafe is delightfully charming, from the rustic interior to the artisanal ceramic crockery. Food is delicious and with decent prices attached. It’s not often you come across homemade crumpets on a cafe menu, and the ones at Kynefin are just what a good crumpet should be: simple, fluffy and squidge-y, best served with melted butter and homemade jam. Food a mixture of good and not-so-good. Poached eggs and crumpets good, sausage rolls and doughnuts with non-jam fillings not so good. Coffee and hot chocolate not recommended. See less

Went to this beautiful village feel cafe for my dad's birthday brunch. Staff were helpful and friendly. Our meals were excellent. We also ordered a side of the crumpets to try as they were home made. So glad we did. Also got some of the yummy doughnuts to go. Definitely want to return. Thank you Kynefin for helping make my dad's day. See less

Situated in the north of Canberra makes you feel you’re more rural than actually are. A great menu full dishes that just awesome. The prices are on par for the area. The food was quickly served with decent sized portions. See less

Great cafe in Hall, just dropped in for Coffee and decided to have the vanilla cream donut. Delicious. Very friendly staff. They also have a great breakfast and lunch menu, as well as a great selection of cakes. I'm definitely trying the creme egg rocky road next time See less

Arrived on a Saturday morning with a booking for 5. Seated inside. Nice cosy environment. Order at the counter from the chalkboard menu. Food was quick to be brought out. Ordered Eggs and toast with hash brown and avo and it was average. Nothing special and very basic presentation. The homemade Crumpets were really good with homemade jam and would be what I would order if I came again. The signature dish of Welsh Rarebit is good but very strong and the mustard used is hot mustard. It's nice but quite overpowering. Perhaps a good share option so you don't have to eat the whole thing yourself. Coffee was okay, again nothing special. Friendly staff. Fresh juices were nice too, especially the apple one. See less

Great little cafe/restaurant in the historic Hall Village, not far from Canberra. The place was pretty full when we arrived but the queue moved very quickly and the staff were very efficient. Coffee was excellent and the breakfast was really tasty. Seating and decor is simple and we chose to sit on the bench outside with a nice view of the park. See less

Lovely people, great building - lots of outdoor seating on the verandah. I had an awesome salad that included pumpkin seeds, potatoes, and strawberries. Will definitely go back next time we’re in Hall. See less

Beef and bacon burger was fantastic, and the fish and chips was delicious with the homemade tartare sauce. Great atmosphere as you get to have the rustic feel of being in a village with amazing food and drinks. See less

Really lovely place, good atmosphere. Service was a little slow, but I think largely due to Mother's day crowds. Space is a little cramped and our table was wobbly, but still a great experience. The coffee was really good, and the doughnuts are amazing. Took some caramel slice home, and enjoyed that the next day. The chocolate top was a little too rich for me, so didn't eat all of it, but the caramel and biscuit base absolutely make the best caramel slice I've had in Canberra. Can't wait to try more of their baked goods. Had a burger and chips for lunch. Excited to find a place that hand cuts their chips. Perfectly cooked. The burger on a house made bun was yummy. All very reasonably priced. Will be going back. The pies look like they need to be tried. See less

Menu is small but perfectly formed with a British influence. Coffee is good (love the cups) and food is top notch. Highly recommend the Crempogs (super light and fluffy welsh pancakes) - so delicious! The baked goods are yummy too, don't leave without a Bombolini - those donuts are delicious! Lots of seating inside and out and a really relaxed vibe. Well worth making the trip to Hall for! See less
