Excellent. Fixed menu because of Covid but it worked well for our table of four. The restaurant was full and restrictions easing so I suspect return to a la carte soon. Solid and interesting dishes with professional service. Like the best I’ve had anywhere in the world and here in Canberra! Will be visiting again, that’s a given. See less

Lovely venue, great service which doesn’t bother you too much but still attentive. Been here a couple of times and the banquet menu changes depending on the season. Pictured is a delicious sweet and sour fish - wonderful crispness. Always leaves you very full. Have also been to the long lunch and sat in the outside part of the restaurant- would recommend for a great weekend lunch with friends. See less

While the restaurant was not externally signposted, the interior was excellent. Amazing food quality and quantity, great flavour combinations. Drinks were top notch (had a couple cocktails). Ambience was great and they even have sound dampening material under the tables to help make it so you can hold a conversation at the table even when it's crowded. See less

Lanterne rooms has always been on the to try list of a little more upscale restaurants in Canberra. Firstly I must say the venue atmosphere and vibe was very nice, cozy yet lively. The inner decor was also was modern yet classic. The staff were friendly and service was pretty quick and smooth. We had the tasting menu. The food overall was tasty with the highlights being the entree bean curd skin wrapped sausages and Tom yum prawns. The dessert was basic but definitely had quite a few elements within. The mains were ok, nothing too special or unique. Overall good experience and recommended for those that don’t eat much Chinese style food. See less

One of the most amazing fusion Asian restaurants... and the service is impeccable! Absolutely loved the Vindaloo Tataki... Amazing delight! Also fish of the day was a must have. Found the place to be relatively obscure. The food was good in both presentation and taste. The place was dimly lit which is good if you're going as a couple and although the total area was fairly small , it didn't really feel that way because of the layout of the restaurant. The wait staff bothwas helpful and friendly. And the reason I gave it 5 stars is because the food didn't take long to be served. See less

Had a wonderful night with great service too. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the interior design, it feels like discovering a hidden secret. The A-ma style Nyonya cooking is one of my favourite cuisines, yet I haven’t tried all of Lanterne Rooms’ food. A friend and I had dinner for two banquet menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the lamb murtabak and the fish with burnt butter. However the other foods were reasonable since I was searching for more of a luscious palate. Happy to come again and try the other foods. See less
