Place has good reviews from 3 years ago. I'm not sure if the chef/kitchen staff have changed. We tried two dishes from here. Both were extremely oily, literally swimming in a pool of oil. The Singapore noodles were tasty but oily and a little bland. The other dish was far too sweet. The meat was not like traditional Chinese shops, silky and soft. It was quite fatty the beef and the chicken was like they took the chicken off some leftover charcoal chook and chucked it in. With a little more care and attention to detail, I think it could improve. See less

I'm always left feeling disappointed with the quality of the Chinese meals here, and actually I'm not sure why this is called a Chinese restaurant, when frankly the meals are wishy-washy, with the sauces tasting like very watery gravy. Last meal was Chicken Chow Mein, and I was hoping it would be better than my previous experience with Nasi Goreng, but unfortunately it didn't resemble any chow mein I've ever eaten, and it was bland and very lacking in flavour. We probably won't be going back, which is annoying as there is very little in the way of choice in authentic cuisine for locals here in Orbost! Short-changed? I think we are. See less

I'm not sure what the locals are used to but the quality of the meals are definitely not up to today's standards. Reminded me of a 1980's westernised Chinese takeaway. Sweet sauces, rubbery meat...tasted like they threw all the ingredients into a pot and added a supermarket bought sauce... Ready in less than 3 minutes so definitely reheated. How anyone could rate this place 4 stars is beyond my comprehension. See less

Dine in customers were required to order at the counter and pay the bills beforehand. Very strange arrangement in a restaurant. More like a fast food takeout one. The portion size was good. Affordable prices. Staff not very friendly. The quality of the steak was just ok. Asked for rare but came out medium. Nasi goreng with king prawns was one of the chef's recommendations. It was a bit oily but still tasty. The fried vegetables with oyster sauce was a bit sweet and just ok. A lot other Asian and Australian dishes available in the menu for selection. Perhaps, they might be better. See less

The good thing about this place is that they're very prompt with their meals - you're never waiting around long. They try, and they're very friendly, and their sweet and sour chicken is quite good. They are a bit inconsistent - they can be really good some days and not so good other other days. The last time I went there it was quite oily, everything was very oily. Their fried rice is really inconsistent - it can be quite dry at times. They were so much better when they were at the pub. They should've never left the pub. The staff are nice and friendly. Great Chinese food, quick service and receive meals very quickly! the taste I've always grown up with in this town when we've gone out for Chinese. Actually hard to come by the same anywhere else I've been! Defiantly try the chicken and cashew nuts!! See less
