Will be driving further afield for fish and chips in the future. Like many others we also discovered when we got home that part of our phone order was missing. We phoned to let them know and asked for a fresh order and they agreed. When we went to pick it up they offered us only the missing item. We insisted on a fresh order and of course had to wait for it. A lot of time wasted. In future we will bypass this fish and chip shop and go somewhere where the service and quality is better. This is the nearest fish and chip shop to me, and as a result, if I want chips, I unfortunately have to go there. I rate the chips as fine. The Burgers are just OK. Last night, I had the worst piece of Flake I have had in living memory. To me, a piece of Flake is an industry standard, and rate my fish as a 2 out of 10, maybe I'm being generous. See less

This used to be the best fish n chip shop in Langwarrin, now…well pity Manuel sold up because now it’s not quite the same. Flake serves seem to have gotten smaller, potato cakes are more “batter” than potato etc. See less

Missing items. Flake, potato cake & chips were tasteless. Called the restaurant to say we were missing some of our food & they weren’t helpful at all; they said it wasn’t their problem and to call Menulog. Never ordering from here again. See less

got a parma and chips from here and once i got back home the parma had stuck to the paper they wrapped it in and it was no longer edible. so then i was left with oily chips and a parma without cheese and ham. however the staff are nice See less

Would not return. Ordered 6:15 pm, advised 20-25 min wait, arrived 6:35, received order 6:55. 5 minute drive home by which time order was cold. Strongly suspect some item was missed, eg pineapple fritter, and the rest of the order sat waiting while that item was cooked. This would also account for less than crisp batter and floppy chips. Order smelled good (fresh oil). Quality of flake (grilled) was very good. ‘Small chips’ was enough for at least 4 people. Seafood sticks were fine (they’re out of a wholesaler’s bag, aren’t they?) but a bit sad - little batter and floppy - maybe if they’d been hot they’d have been better. Dim sims fine - no better or worse than any other. Chiko roll was inedible and had to throw it out - outside was chocolate brown and despite this inside was cold and smelled strange - was it chucked in the fryer from frozen? Pineapple fritter was OK. $23 all up perhaps a little more than one would expect but acceptable if quality had been average. It wasn’t though. The only redeeming quality of this eagerly anticipated feed was a good piece of fish. Poor organisation and poor cooking, such that it is, spoilt that part of Saturday evening in front of the TV! 1 Star and this is been generous. I placed an order to be delivered via menu log to my dad in hospital at Peninsula Private tonight. I even rang the store and went through the order with them to make sure it was all going to be done properly. I even gave step by step instructions on delivery. The delivery driver couldn't understand where to go even when I was on the phone giving step by step instructions of where to park etc. Then the order didn't have what i asked even when I had rung and gone through and was assured that it would be done. The chips went soggy and the fish was cold and soggy. Overall will never do this again from Manuel's especially when you confirm it and still get it so wrong See less

Have always bought our Friday dinner from Manuel’s. however lately the potato cakes have been awful. Full of fat and the batter seems to be different. Whilst We love the fresh fish and other items we purchase we are so disappointed with the potato cakes. Something has definitely changed with them. Hope this can be changed to what it used to be as we are looking for alternatives if it doesn’t but we like to shop and support local and will be disappointed if we have to go. See less

This shop used to be amazing, was the best in the area. Food was always hot, never greasy, never burnt, great service and the food was always fresh and flavoursome. We used to be regulars and would of given the store a 10/5, however since the business was sold, I wish I could give it 0/5 stars . The food is disgusting, burnt, tasteless, smaller portions and extremely greasy. The service is appalling. After buying our food today, it's safe to say that we'll never be back. What a shame such a good fish and chip shop could be ruined so fast. Take my advice don't waste your money! See less

I came here a few times whilst working in the area. The people who work there are absolutely wonderful. So helpful and always with a smile. The flake was good, nicely grilled with breadcrumbs. Minimum of chips are plentiful. A colleague ordered steamed dim sims and some whiting and she raved about them. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Take away available. Good parking out the front.
