To their credit they were very busy, it’s a cute cafe and the drinks were good. However, the food wasn’t great value for money, we waited an hour for it from ordering (nobody mentioned this to us beforehand) and there was an $11 surcharge on the bill just because it was a weekend. And also no split bills despite ordering at different times - this wasn’t mentioned either. See less

Waited 15 mins for my takeaway coffee today - that's not terrible by itself and reflective of the popularity of the place. But watching the barista carelessly dump the milk in my coffee, not stir in my sugar and hand over a cappuccino with no foam whatsoever when I'd seen him make 15 minutes worth of pretty good looking dine-in coffees made it all feel like a huge mistake. The coffee tasted weak and the milk thin. Huge disappointment. See less

First the good. Great coffee! Presentation of the food was also really nice. Then the bad. The savoury waffle was pretty bland, the avo tasted off, but overall edible. Then I took a bite and felt something rock hard. My partner asked me if I was okay because it sounded like I chipped my tooth. There was either a stone or a piece of bone in the salad (really hoping it was a stone). Still had to pay for it, so thanks for the mems and the lasting jaw ache M + C! See less

While staying at the hotel across the road we popped in for breakfast here. We ended coming back for the remaining 5 days stay. Excellent service, excellent food. Definitely check it out. See less

One of the nicest cappuccinos I’ve had in Canberra, I had the normal coffee and the decaf and they were both great. Polite staff as well. Despite its weekday abundance of corporate types it’s also quite family and pram friendly too. See less

A modern, hip lunch spot with beautiful indoor decor and an outdoor seating area. All day breakfast menu and a diverse lunch menu starting from 11:30. The barramundi was tasty, I would get it again. See less

Tried both the savoury and sweet waffle options. The savoury waffle had a nice flavour, like a crispy corn fritter. It went really well with poached eggs and smoked salmon. The sweet waffle was also nice and crisp, with delicious fixings. Portions are a bit on the small side (especially for the price) so big appetites (like me) may be left wanting more. Perfect spot for a brunch at the center of Barton. Located along Burberry Close, Maple + Clove offers healthy options for sumptuous breakfast and lunch meals. We liked how the Pesto Eggs and Goats Cheese was made (as we are big Eggs Benedict chasers) and also the Blue Swimmer Crab Omelette with rice on top which has this Japanese dish vibe on it. Coffee is good too! They offer alfresco dining so you can enjoy your meal outside a good weather. See less

My wife and I love this place! The sweet potato hash brown is both delicious and filling. Same goes for the chicken tacos! The freshly squeezed juice was very refreshing. Just wanted to say thanks to the staff as we arrived at 2:25pm, 5 minutes before the kitchen closed and they were more than accommodating to let us sit and eat without rushing us. We left completely satisfied with the food and the service. 5 stars! See less

POST COVID DINNING Firstly the team here is amazing. They were busy but they actually accommodated every need we had. They were very efficient and prompt. The presentation was remarkable for both dishes. We ordered extras and the price didn’t spike up. The total spend came near $60 which we found fairly reasonable. The set up is lovely. With the option to eat outside or inside. Both options being very accomodating and the lighting is beautiful for photography. See less

Maple Clove is staple coffee, brunch, lunch place in Barton. If you work in the area you’d definitely have been there. Came here for lunch and had the blue swimmer crab dish, which was nice but lacked any crab taste or texture. Otherwise I love the vibe and lively atmosphere of the restaurant. See less

My favourite breakfast - brunch place in Canberra! Everything looks and tastes delicious. From the coffee, tea and healthy juices to the surprisingly beautiful and creative plates. Also, all the ingredients are high quality which probably helps the mouth watering food they present you with. Plus, the staff it's FANTASTIC. They are all very accommodating and always looking to make you feel welcomed even when you don't have a booking. I do suggest you book though as it can be full the whole time. The decoration is another big plus, not many places in CBR spend time in having a nice decoration with great lighting as this one. Lastly, the prices are normal.
