THE most appauling lack of customer service I have ever experienced. The young lady greeted me upon arrival and that is why I have given 1 star. Plenty of staff in the kitchen. A bloke in uniform sitting on a stool near the door. Cutomers - a group of 3 and me. No follow through whatsoever re ordering. I gave them half an hour of my time. While it's quiet, you would think the place would be spotless - Na! Never again. Many other places in Wagga to find a quality feed. See less

Disappointing breakfast this week. This used to be a great place but the food we received was expensive and poor. My companion had "Berry Pancakes" and received two large, thick and stodgy things, a smear of berry coulis and ice cream, but no berries for $20. My chorizzo and chilli egg was OK but lacked presentation. Thank goodness the coffee was still good. With so many excellent eateries in Wagga, Melba's will have to lift their game to survive. Great brekky feed, but lacked some major menu items by 11am (croissants, pancakes, wraps) - plenty of other options though, can recommend the brekky burger. See less

Went to Melbas for breakfast, We each ordered sour dough fruit toast it was $8 for two slices, there was only 2 people waiting in front of us although waited 20 minutes for our 2 pieces each. it was supposed come with pepe saya butter & house made Jam, when we finally received our boxed takeaway breakfast we noticed the toast was very dry with standard margarine in the middle, no pepe butter, the margarine was not even covering the whole toast, and instead of house made jam we got 2 plastic sealed packets of regular jam, No plastic cutlery to spread the jam. We then had to go back ask for more margarine and plastic cutlery by the time we finally ate our 4 pieces of toast costing $16 it was cold... Wont be back... Thankyou for your quick response although how about the home made jam we also did not receive... Also the the reason our breakfast went cold was because we had to come back for more margarine and utensils that should have been supplied in the first place. Also if you can not offer what it states on the menu why not let us know when we ordered, and why did you charge us full price if we were not getting what we ordered??? See less

Had a great brunch at Melba's today. Eggs Benedict was fantastic. Food and coffee was awesome!. Staff were courteous and efficient. This is a favourite spot for me for breakfast. I will be back next weekend for sure. I even bought a yummy family pie for my tea, and can't wait to try it out :) See less

Bacon and Slow Scrambled Egg roll. Absolutely amazing. There should be a line out the door for a breakfast sandwich this good. Highly recommend. See less

Food was great! Coffee was great! Cleanliness was disgraceful, members of the public were clearing tables to make room throughout our hour stay (including us). Another member of the public placed paper towel on wet floors to stop people slipping.... Hopefully they can fix these simple issues 🙂 See less

I came to dine in, at this place ordered four meals, waiting for about half an hour for the food to come out, then afterwards one of our meals did not come out, so went to check our order and they denied placing it on the order, but we insisted on ordering it, and then they found out we had ordered it just never placed it on the kitchen order. Then they insisted on us ordering something else, so we just asked for a refund in the end, however this is not the main thing we didn’t hear an apology during this entire ordeal. Hopefully can teach your staff to look into a better solution for these situations in the future. Thanks See less

The table was sticky with maple syrup. So hadn't been cleaned. Took 5 minutes standing at the counter to get service. She couldn't tell the difference between orange and lemon drinks. Long wait for food. The burger was almost cold. The meat under cooked. The bacon gone hard. No napkins supplied. Won't be going back! See less

It's somewhere I've been meaning to check out for a while and it definitely upheld it's reputation 👍 Great quality food at a decent price and attention to detail in the presentation of their meals. I'll be going back 🌟 See less

Nice convenient location on the main street of Wagga. There isn't too much positive to say about the food, unfortunately it was mediocre at best. The toast on all 3 plates was over done. The eggs were over done. Nothing terrible, but not great either. The milk shakes were ok, but very sweet. The table we sat at we noticed was extremely sticky and hadn't been cleaned sufficiently. There is plenty of seating and a kids play area. See less

Set on the main drag in Wagga Wagga’s busy shopping district, Melbas Bakery and Eatery Wagga was recommended to us by a local. Walking into the cafeteria-like interior, I had my doubts. How could mass-produced breakfast at this level have the artisan touches I crave? I settled in with a decent cappuccino ($4.50) made on their house-roasted Green Bean Coffee and prepared to choke on my assumptions. Topped with more bacon than seemed proper, the house-made waffle ($16) was the fluffiest American waffle I’ve encountered since Las Vegas. Dripping in (real) maple syrup with oozing pats of Pepe Saya butter, this plate conquered me (but I gave it a really good bash). Continuing the Americana theme, Memphis Boston beans ($18) threaded pulled smoked pork butt though chipotle beans in the best rendition of this dish I’ve eaten. It’s served with poached eggs and house-made sourdough, and cleverly garnished with lemon and pickled onions to aid digestion (it’s another big serve of food). We’d added on some chilli sauce that looked like an insipid faintly pink mayo. so we slathered it on, only to be thoroughly spanked for our assumptions. Don’t judge books by their covers was clearly the lesson of the day. Recommended! Edit 11/11/20: It’s super rare for me to revisit a spot when I’m travelling somewhere new, but I broke that rule for Melba’s. This means I’ve now tried all four items on their short breakfast menu, including this well-balanced breakfast wrap ($15). Avoiding the usual issues, it wasn’t too wet, with quality baby spinach keeping a bit of crunch against cheese, bacon, fried eggs, onion relish, chipotle aioli and a hashbrown. Served open, the brekky sandwich ($12) normally is a vegetable-leaning affair with mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, American cheese, a fried egg and Hollandaise. My dining companion got bacon and hashbrown envy so opted to customise, to good effect. This time I ordered my coffee ($4.50) strong and found it much better to drink. I reckon I ripped Melba’s off half a star when I only awarded them 4.5 stars last time ‘round... better fix that now! See less
