Possibly the best Asian cuisine restaurant I’ve ever been to. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. I ordered the Banquet 2, which I was very surprised to see was almost all Gluten Free. The one dish that wasn’t they even substituted for me! See less

We went here for my birthday and had such a great night. Was really nice to watch the sun go down on the balcony over a couple of cocktails. The food was so good and so was the service. It just made my night so much more enjoyable with friendly and professional staff. See less

Loved the atmosphere, service was fantastic. A special shout out to Joseba and his attention to detail and service. Great food, the steak was soft and delicious. Fried rice and singapore noodles was a hit. 10/10 See less

We had a table booked for 8:30pm but on arrival had to wait half an hour for a table to become available. It was a busy night for a Sunday and the staff seemed flustered. We were seated near the kitchen and during our visit we heard at least 4 plates / glasses smash onto the floor. The air conditioner vents in the ceiling above us dripped water on us the whole time. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive after ordering. We had Banquet 1. I’m not sure that I liked the salt and pepper calamari but others in my group thought it was ok. The peppered beef and the sweet and sour pork were delicious. The Miss Songs fried rice was nice overall but the pieces of scallop were weird - strange texture and an artificial taste (I usually love scallops). They did give us a free round of drinks (beers and coke) in lieu of a table not being available. For the price I did not see the value. The meal overall was good but it was a rather average dining experience. We probably won’t go back. See less

Great food, horrible service. Drinks weren’t provided until after our food (after being asked for twice) and even then one of them came ten minutes later. Asked if we could do a birthday surprise for a friend, had two deep fried ice creams delivered halfway through our main courses. Lemon chicken finally arrived after we finished our dessert before it melted and we were told they couldn’t box it up for us. Maître d’ was totally unhelpful and didn’t seem to care. Sweet and sour pork was particularly nice. See less

I can only comment on the things I had and saw - interiors were well decorated, good vibes, not fine dining-luxurious but definitely has a chilled nice vibe and relaxing ambience! If seated outside, it overlooks the pool, sea and skies! I had the duck chow mien and mango pudding - it’s decent but the dish leaned towards the saltier side. Love the pudding though! See less

Fantastic food and service, our wait person, Maverena, provided us with excellent service. I would like to see a few more Aussie wines available by the glass. Will definitely be back! See less

Food and service at Miss Songs is excellent. Friendly staff, very accommodating and the menu has a lot of different choices for those looking for great Asian food. If you're in Townsville and looking for a great dining experience, look no further than Miss Songs. It gets busy so recommend booking prior to arrival. Highly recommend. See less

I can’t believe the poor star rating on this restaurant. Have had banquet previously, nice food but not exceptional & was fairly priced, didn’t think much of restaurant. Went a second time & ordered from the menu & it blew my mind! Food is amazing & service exceptional, not a Townsville local but this Asian cuisine deserves a much higher rating than its google reviews! See less

Why is this place not ranked higher? Price is high but quality is great. Exceptional food for a regional Australian town - high quality, great attentive service and wonderful location. Hard to fault anything here. Salt and pepper calamari exceptional, duck pancakes lots of meat - great, the barramundi serving was small, the beef excellent and high quality, the San choy bow great ! Deep fried ice cream great a bit too much honey or sweet sauce in it. A+ location is classy and can’t be beat. One gripe - the toilets downstairs the hand soap was replaced with cheap pink stuff. Putting a bit of lipstick on a pig - Ville should pull up their socks on that. Can you imagine Soho House replacing their Cow toiletries with something cheap but keeping the packaging? See less

Went here last night and all I can say is that I should have listened to everyone who told me to avoid this place at all cost! The ambience gives off an initial perception that you are going to have some sort of elevated gastronomic experience, for the end result to not only thoroughly disappoint food wise but also in the service provided by the staff (with the exception of our designated Filipino older male waiter). At the initial interaction of finding our booking, we were confronted by a relatively tall bespectacled East Asian gentleman who seemed intent in undermining my party by asking if we were sure we booked correctly, and if we booked for the right date, which was all easily dismissed by the confirmation message we received and showed, which had all our booking information. They still couldn’t process our booking, and by the time it was all sorted, this whole process took away quite a bit of time from the designated time slot “blocks” they allocate for dining-in, which is an hour and a half. The food, we ordered Banquet 2, and although the food was not bad, in the context of the price point they are offered, they should be considered bad. The food is marketed as some sort of Asian Fusion cuisine however it was more reminiscent to the western-style Chinese food you find in small regional towns in Australia, with the exception that those eateries don’t come under the false pre-tense of finer dining and exorbitant pricing. If you want an Asian Fusion experience in Townsville, you are more well-off going to Shorehouse as they actually have some decent and interesting choices rather than the generic retitled options you get here at Miss Songs. If you do like the western-style Chinese food, and you don’t mind taking away the novelty of “The Ville”, there are a bunch of mom&pop Chinese eateries in suburban Townsville that provide better quality food and have much more options that are much more worth your money (*cough* Mr Young *cough). You would also be providing support to small businesses rather than a legacy company that has a monopoly on tourism in the region. The waiter (white shirt) designated to us was an older Filipino who was quite lovely and accommodating but the junior staff (blue shirts?) were absolutely atrocious during our time there last night. They would reach over the table rather than go-around, and they would stack new dishes onto older plates rather than setting the older dishes aside and removing them from the table. In my experience last night, when they did take old plates, they took our cutlery with them as well, so we had to try to call the attention of our busy waiter to get replacement cutlery. I get that these junior workers are probably young international students from Asia trying to get-by but from what I’ve seen in other reviews here on Google, there seems to be an inherent lack of will to do their jobs and roles well with these junior staff, which is thoroughly disappointing. Best place to eat in Townsville. The staff are attentive without being in your face, they know the menu and can talk about them with you. The menu is so good, I plan on working my way through it. Beautiful setting and atmosphere to enjoy delicious food. See less
