I had been searching online for a special place to have a special birthday lunch for a group of 8 friends when I came across Mt Bera Winery & Restaurant. I booked online during July when they were closed for a family holiday and was surprised to receive confirmation of my booking well before they reopened. My special birthday lunch last Saturday 14/8/21 was indeed very special and all 8 of us were very impressed and had a memorable time. Everything was perfect, actually it was above and beyond. The setting is just lovely, the service was warm and attentive, the wine tasting list so long we didn’t complete it and the food very, very good and then there was more. We were seated on the verandah corner overlooking the garden and to the green hills beyond. It was a sunny day and the perplex blinds were raised for us to enjoy the view even more. Greg was very attentive in welcoming us and acknowledging my birthday and taking us through multiple wine tastings with explanations and where they were grown on the property. Amazing that there are such microclimates and wine outcomes in different areas. Greg also advised on platters to share for starters which worked really well. New to all of us was black bread , (? charcoal) and the baked Camembert was divine. For mains, most of us had either Chicken Tagine with green olives and preserved lemons or Baharat Lamb, one had Quiche. All went down very well. As did our desserts, mostly Sticky Date Pudding or Poached Pears. Near the end of our lunch, Greg asked me which was my favourite of the sparklings and when telling him he presented me with a bottle as a birthday gift. WOW. So unexpected. All of us bought wines that we had tasted. We were all amazed at the price we paid for our lunch including two bottles of wine on the table and coffee afterwards. Very highly recommended and all of us will definitely return. A very special day, thank you Greg, family and staff. You have a very special place and gave us a very special experience. WOW, have just returned home after having a very leisurely lunch at Mt Bera Vineyards to celebrate my birthday and from the minute we walked in to the minute we left we were looked after exceptionally well. Greg his family and staff are the perfect hosts, the food and their wines were absolutely excellent and the views are gorgeous. A hidden gem and one I will definitely be returning to. See less

What an amazing place. We had a great day. The wine and food was incredible and very reasonably priced for the quality. We ended up purchasing quite a few bottles!!
