Great Asiatic food in North Hobart. Special mention to the crispy eggplant. But everything is flavourful and fresh. You cannot pick wrong. See less

One of my favourite restaurants in Hobart. Have been there for years, and the food, drinks, and service are just superb! Birthday free dessert is always a warm bonus, and sometimes the owner would provide fruit and snacks if you are lucky enough. I really like the year of tiger’s special dish Creamy King Prawns and Wontons! Just AMAZING! See less

We ordered from here after reading they where in the top 5 dumplings in Hobart. I would hate to try the other 4 because this was one of the worst meals I've had. I don't mean to be rude but I love dumplings and Chinese food and we eat alot of it. Plain mince only in the spring rolls, what tasted like the prawn dumplings you buy in a packet in the supermarket, burnt dried up rice that smelt like curry powder and chicken that had none authentic Chinese flavours, I would recommend to try elsewhere than eat here. It’s really difficult to find such a good Chinese restaurant in Hobart. Me and my friend went to the restaurant tonight and order several dishes. The almond prawn is amazing! My friend prefers the lamb dumplings. About the main dishes, we ordered cumin lamb, eggplant and three shot chicken. All of the dishes are very nice and the service is great! See less

I knew it’s going to be bad but didn’t know it was to be this awful! If you are easily impressed by take away food then go and pay $30 for a dish I wouldn’t pay 12 for. Only 2 tables and it took 30mins for 6 drinks to come out we are table 2. My food came out first at least 15mins before the other 7 plates and of course I wouldn’t eat while work collègues are watching! Sent it back to be put under the heat lamp and came back cold as!! Staff not seen as they are chatting 24/7 in the back. Had to eat my dry cold lamb with no wine to wash it down. The best part of the entire meal was the wine! Thanks Kate Hill and this restaurant should be ashamed of calling it fine dinning, and what make it worse the staff and owners are Chinese!! They have no respect to their food or culture. A massive nooooo and no wonder why it’s empty. Ps I’ve been managing restaurants for 22 years. See less

We ordered the Soya Beef, Cumin Lamb, dumplings and some steamed rice this evening and were severely disappointed. The beef was borderline inedible as it was so tough and chewy I was unable to finish it due to an aching jaw. The lamb dish was essentially a couple of overcooked lamb slices with bit of cumin powder, nothing more. They even have the audacity to charge you $4 for a tiny serving of steamed rice, so maybe 200g of steamed rice cost us $8 dollars. This seems to be a theme at Mulan, as the meat dish serving sizes were also very small for the price. I sincerely do not have the faintest clue as to how this restaurant is so highly rated, this was a terrible dining experience and I won't be returning. See less

Actually, it is an Asian gourmet restaurant not Chinese. Quite spicy but delicious. Service is so so. See less

Was casually walking past this place tonight. My partner and I felt like some Asian food, so we decided to give Mu LAN a go. Food was beautiful, fresh and full of flavour. We will definitely come back to this place. See less

Service was ok prompt but not so friendly, food was full of flavour and well presented , but with the meals we got 2 out of 3 were poor value for money compared to many places of same standard. See less
