I want to start by saying never leave reviews, especially negative ones, but I just had too. The server I had was so lovely, she was bubbly and cheery for so early in the morning and it gave us such high hopes - can’t fault her! But sadly the food I got served was awful, and for the price we paid, I’ve never felt more physically ill after a meal (stomach pains and nausea was next level) and I couldn’t even get through half of it.
I had the corn fritters which had bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomato with hollandaise. Bacon and eggs were mostly fine, the fritters were a little charred but not the worst. The mushrooms were rubbery and very dry, I had one in the hopes it was just one bad one, but they were all like that, which lead me to believe they may have been recooked and reheated (only an assumption). The tomato was so so mushy and one of them was SO spicy (which i dont think it’s meant to be). But the worst was probably the amount of hollandaise. I tried scraping it to the side but it had already gotten on everything and was just far too rich for the amount there was.
My friend had the Eggs Benny which was also nothing incredible, but the toast was so dense! I don’t know why but it wasnt the crust being extra crunchy but the soft white of the bread would not cut! The eggs were also strangely watery? But overcook (no runny yolk) They were poached but looked as if were fried? I dont know how to explain it.
The coffee’s were also not that fantastic.
I’m always happy to support my local businesses and that’s why we gave them a go after noticing some renovations, (which look lovely!) so I’m very sorry to leave a review like this but for the physical pains my body and my friends have felt after eating here is too much to let it slide. I’m not expecting 5 star meals everywhere I go, but I also dont expect to have stomach pains and nausea for the rest of the day after I eat somewhere. Apologies again I really wanted to like the food! See less
