They cancelled my booking without contacting me at all, $40 Uber up to the location and $40 back down. Super unacceptable. No contact was made and I even received a confirmation email yesterday. Apparently all booking were cancelled a week ago. I won’t be attempting to dine here again for fear of wasting transport money. See less

Amazing food, stunning presentation, gorgeous flavours, beautiful views. $300 for 2, including wine and oysters. Price is what I would expect for the very high quality of food, ambience and views. Staff were a bit inattentive and was quite difficult to attract their attention -, perhaps not very experienced and just need a bit more training, but once I was able to attract someone's attention, the service was excellent. Aircon is a bit cold, so bring a light jacket. Definitely worth visiting at least once for a romantic dinner at sunset, with views over all of Canberra. Menu is a 4 course dinner with 3 options in each course, plus optional extras, such as oysters or sides. Wine list includes a lot of Canberra regionals. I went for the Italian Pino Grigio, which I found quite nice. Would definitely go back. See less

I want to support local businesses and appreciate that post-lockdown many places are facing the challenges of fresh produce and staffing. As a feature restaurant with a view, the food was underwhelming. The 4 course menu looks interesting but the elements of each dish did not come together. Mushrooms and eggplant weren't cooked properly. Dessert was boring - I expect Coles to have choc mousse and pana cotta jelly, not a fine dining establishment. The staff are trying, but the food failed. OnRed is a "has been" and does not live up to expectations based on their website and history. Only 4 tables were seated and it was very quiet. Waiter/manager was very responsive and courteous. Probably the only reason I gave 2 stars at all. There are many great dining options in Canberra. I suggest you try some other ones unless the view through dirty windows and quiet location are a top priority. See less

Came here for ‘post lockdown’ dinner with a friend. Were not able to accommodate ‘vegetarian’ for all aspects of their set menu. Most courses were very forgettable. You’re paying for the views, which are good - but not that good. See less

Amazing place, great location and views of Canberra but the best and absolutely perfect was the food we were served for dinner. I have never had anything so well presented and beautifully prepared, tasting divine! ❤️ The Chef is one of the Gordon Ramsay's apprentices. See less

Onred is at the top of the Red Hill lookout. So it probably has one of the best views a Canberra restaurant could have. We had 5 course meal with wine pairing. The photos are the second course Kingfish and the fourth main duck. The food was really average... I'd have expected the food to be exceptional, but it was just average and they were not even served warm-hot for the main dish. Also the first course was small baguette stick so it didn't really feel like a 5 course.. I tried once and that was it. I wouldn't go back unless really have to go. See less

Lovely dinner, great service and beautiful view over Canberra. Nice little touches to personalise for our anniversary dinner too. The restaurant is quite open to the kitchen, so you get a little more noise than other fine dining I've been to, but certainly nothing to detract from the experience. Will definitely go back, it was delicious and the view over sunset was so beautiful. See less

Food was better than the last time I went. Only one stand out dish - watermelon. Don't get the duck if you like crispy skin. Neither dessert wowed me. Clarify when you order wine. Requested half a bottle which is on their menu, but somehow it became a whole one. Don't feel like we drank it either because they don't leave the bottle on the table. See less

Slightly overpriced but really good for a special fine dining experience. The view is absolutely lovely and the food is quite delicious. I had the vegetarian three course and was satisfied. The wine pairing added a beautiful charm to the food. The service was lovely and overall would recommend for once-in-a-while special experience! See less

Onred has a great location and friendly staff. It would benefit from a slightly better execution of the food which were good, but maybe not up to the standard of other fine dining options in Canberra. Also with such a great view it would be better if the windows had a clean so that it was easier to see. See less

Good was good but $$$. The service wasn't good, I booked for NightFest but they didn't seem to be connected. The service was slow, I asked for wine pairing but when the meal came out the wine didn't, I asked the waiter who brought my food and he was borderline rude and just said it was coming. I waited but no wine I ended up asking a different waiter and it was clear they had forgotten. When I booked i told them my wife was lactose intolerance but the head waiter was confused with gluten free. The booking was for two hours and they did was all served in that time and lots of people for the next time slot waiting, as a result as soon as you put your spoon down from desert they were asking you to leave. They knew we weren't happy and didn't even ask us how our meal was when we paid a lot of money for the meal. At the start of the night they kept asking for feedback because it was a new menu but by the end it was clear they only wanted positive feedback. See less

I had dinner at Onred tonight. All of the food was delicious. The waiter was very polite and attentive, and the restaurant manager was too. The menu is four courses, preceded by a small starter. Three mains followed with dessert for the final course. Each of the four courses has three options to choose from, and these are quite varied. There's also optional starters, and an optional cheese course to finish. There's a wine menu, but I couldn't try anything from it tonight. Finally, the view is quite pretty. There are few places like it that I'm aware of. See less
